Interesting Statistic* Coneernini the Prevailing F.pldemle- Now on the Di^erease. Montgomery county is probably worse alllicted with measles than any county in the State. The following Mn.tistic:i furnished County Health Officer Cowan will give an idea of «he extent and tataliIvofthe dist^ase: The first case was reported oh 'lanuj.ry 21, and it was the only one in that month. In Februai'v' 7s cases were reported for Crawfoidsvillo, and in March up to date li.SOcases. Nutnof deaths reported for 'rawtordsville
up to date is four. The number of ce.se reported for the county outside of..Craw fordsville hi »s and deaths nine.: Thi makes a grand total of asc "atid L» leaths But these figures are only approximate for many physician* in the oul townships have not reported, notably in Darlington, where deaths, were quite frequent for a while. It is also necessary to remember that death is oftoner the result of a complication of measles and some other disease which sets in later, than of'tho measles- alone. Dr. Cowan states that the epidemic is tapidly decreasing and in a few weeks will have entirely disappeared.
The Fry Foneerl.. 'V
Madame Fry's Concert Company will be at Music Hall on the evening of April 7 and give a benetit entertainment for the V. M* C. A. The following notice is from the Omaha lit*: "Madame Fry possesses a pure, clear, mc/./.o-.oprano voice: has an impressive stage, appearance as well. Her daughters. Eugenie. Lulu and Alta. have inheiited her musical talent to a great degree, and met with a reception amounting almost to an ovation. Almost every piece was encored, and the evening was crowned with such success as rarely falls to the lot of any artists who visit us. The closing selection, a vocal trio. 'Homo, Sweet Home,* was charming. Jt would be a lino thing if such entertainments could be oftener secured: and Madame Fry and her talented daughters bear away with them something more than the admiration and good will of the people of this city, whom they have charmed with their exquisite music."
