The college ol physicians and surgeons have their own troubles. First war against one another, and now a "mighty cheeky" reporter of the Journal •jToes through 'em and exposes everything. The cemeteries are now :tli guarded to -.ave bodies from the notorious body •matchers. Grave robbing has been carried on to a great extent since the cou veiling of the college, and a proposition is now on foot to have a l.iw providing for the same.

Dead and Beautiful Venice. [Jouquin Millar, in Of course you can sit down in a good hotel here and have almost as much eom-i fort as in any Saxon city you may visit I but you don't see Venice as Venice is—, as I saw it iri my half'dozen attempts toi live with the poor toilers of this city and see them at home. Nor would I say that all the houses are beset with vile smells| and vermin. I only insist that there are two sides to this pretty, womanly city, and that it is the most deceitful city in the world -a city of wide and wonderful! contrasts.
