PntZK Siiootino.—The target shooting lor the P'.izc ol^ ^5 ottered the military companies of' Wabash College by Col. Cmringtou took place last Monday afternoon. After parading on College and Washitigton streets for half an hour, during which there was a very cre.litab'e exhibition of volley and file firing, tlie companies were marched to the hollow near the Vancleave medical springs, the place chosen for the contest. The target was placed at a distance of 7f yards. .\0out 130 of the students participated.

Many ol the shots went far wide of lhe mark, but on the whole the shooting was highly creditable for unpracticed marksmen. Upwa/ds of 70 shots hit the target. The prize was awarded to Frank O'Ferrall, of the Junior class. The next best shot was made by L. Anderson, of the Freshman class, and the third best by A. W. WUhaid. the Sophomores. O'Ferrall and Anderson each planted ball within an inch of the center. A

The Fall parage came off Monday afternoon. At two o'clock the companies were formed at the gymnasium, and, headed by the band, marched to the mineral springs where the afternoon was spent in target shooting. Frank O'Ferrall of the Junior class made the best shot of all and received the $5 prize offered by Col. Carrington. The drill was by far the best in which the students have taken a part. The firing was pronounced to be par excellent.
