The City Council met i:i regular session on Monday evening, the members all present.

The Mayor reported s.",7 of lines,, collected since last report. .vV.-'C The t-niinccr reported surveys fi.r sidowalkson Main street and Wabash avenue, and also surveys and estimates ft-r the Washington street extension. The reports were laid on the table for two Weeks.

Three bids were received for the I-'rank-lin street and I'lum street sidewalks, from Z. A. lb-own, J. M. Craig and Geo. K. l'orter. The contract was awarded to Porter al 7j cents per foot on Franklin, .'("•J on 1*1 ti in, and :!o cents per yard for the grading.

The semi annual report of the School

Trustees was received and ordered to be placed on tile. On motion of Mr. Vanarsdall the Com-' inittee on Fire Department was authorized to insure the city building for $5,01)0

On motion it was decided to hold a called meeting on Friday evening, the 27th, to take into consideration ttie propositions of the gas company.
