The furnaces and the steps are vet to put up with these exceptions the new building is ready (or occupancy. The steps are being erected and the furnaces have been bought and are on the ay, perhaps here by this time. The teachers have all been engaged and are ready to enter upon their work. While the patrons of the school have patiently borne with all the vexatious delays incident to the erection of the building the fact that they will have a commodious house, and one that they all will feel proud of, will compensate them for their patient waiting.

ing the standing of our banks. What tho Logan steam stone works, was in our was intended by the item may not liave been clearly expressed, yet it was far from the intention on the part of the JornxAi, to create any distrust in the minds ol' ihc people toward our banking institution.-. It well known to all that there ha-, been no dealing in money in the way of loan-, the banks deeming il advisable to hold on to what they had to protect their depositors. This course has been approved by all our business men. The banks are both in as sound a condition as they ever were and depositors need have no fear for the salctv of their money. In this connection we may say that to all appearances, if the newspapers are to be relied on, the financial storm is passing away and the skies are clearing up. AVlicr it shall have entirely subsided it i* expected that our banks here, in common with the bank's of the entire country, will get back into their accustome.1 channels and that business in all its branches will be as active and prosperous as heretofore.
