This uncle, Cil-j hert Simpson, was acting as Washington's agent, and by the contract the mill, situated in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania, is rented to one Thoma- Mnire, for one year lor half of the profits and 11 pounds ami 5 shillings, specie, or grain rated its follows: Wheat, five shillings! per bushel rye, three and sixpence corn, two and six pence. Thomas, the Judge elect. The presentation speech was made by (leorgel). Hurley. Judge Ristine's commission expires on the 1-lth of November, when he will be succeeded bv Judge Thomas.

The doctor treated his subject ably and clearly, defining the sphere of reason, and showing that both the doctrines and duties of religion were rational that the central truth of natural religion, one God, ami that of revealed religion, one Mediator, are ill accordance with man's intuitive perceptions, lie spoke of Tyn dull'.- proposed lest of the efficiency of prayer as unreasonable, since it begs the question ill discarding all just proof, and is practically dictation. He claimed, also, that miracles and profound mysteries were essential parts of a reasonable service.
