During the absenco of tho family of Mr. William J. Coons from homo on Sunday last, his house was entered and rantsacked, several articles of small value being taken therefrom. Information of this rebbory having been given to tho marshal and his deputy, they sueceedod in arresting the depredator, and securcd the missing articles. The person who committed this act, upon being taken beforo ma}'or Layttion, .gavo his namo as John Smith.— lie is a Canadian by birth, and doforrfiod by nature, about twenty years of ago, and small in staturo. A few other articles, not identified, which were found in his possession, are supposed also to havo boon purloined from eoir.o other houso. From a journal kept by him, it appears that ho had been peddling a small stock of pictures, his stock bccamo exhausted, money gone, and. that lie was destitute among strangers. For two days he had subsisted only on apples, while travoling. Saturday and Sunday ho had callcd at housos nlong the road and asked for food, but received nothing but religious locturos. Necessity alone appeared to havo prompted his ihofts. lie is a victim of misfortune rather than a criminal. Ilis offence, howover, was cloar before the law, and ho was committed to jail to answer the charge of theft at tho circuit court.

A Call from Distant Minnesota.

Kingston P. 0., Meekcn Co., Min., April 7, THJ. Mr John Dull:—Dear Sir I moved from Kentucky to this place. Tho stores have none of your Worm Destroyer for sale. They are greatly needed here in Minnesota. A trial is ail that is needed to give them a reputation. We can't do ioilhont them. Do send somo on this way.

Dr. Bull:—Dear Sir: My husband, Dr. C. 8. Johnson, fras a skillful surgeon and physicion in Central New Zork, where he died, leaving the above C. P. Johnson to my care. At thirteen yoars of age he had the chronic diarrhea and scrofula, for which I gave him your Sarsaparilla. IT CURED Bin. I have for tea years reeotnmended it to many 1n New York, Ohio, and Iowa, for scrofula, fever sores, and general debility.' Perfect success has attended it. The enret effected in some eaeeg of scrofula and fever tores were almost miraculous. I am very anxious for my eon to again have recourse to your Sarsaparilla. He is fearful of getting a spurious article, henee his writing to you for it. His wounds were terrible, but I believe he will recover.

Dr. Gist, who had been in bad health, tried them, and he also improved. Dr. Coffee, who had been in bad health for several years—stomach and liver affected—improved very much by the use of your Bitters. Mr. M. L. Duplan writes: I do jiot know thai Bull's Worm Destroyers need any mora recommendations than it has already attained by its own merits, but will state that my little son, aged about three years, was soverely attacked last {all and winter with light chills, followed by very high fever, throwing him into spasms, or perhaps more properly, /its, lasting from half an hour to ono and a half hours at the same time the child had strong symptoms of worms. My physician —one of the best in this part of the country—exhausted all his skill* aad the Materia Mediea to expel the worms, and entirely failed to bring any. I thought "John Bull" could do it, and gave the child the contents of three boxes, '.in triple dosoe, night and morning, with happy results. The child has not had a spasm for over three months, and instead of tho bloated mass that he was, he is now well and hearty. "John Bull did it.".,

The proprietor ef this celebrated medicine justly claims tor it a superiority over all remedied ever offered to the peblkr, for the safe, certain, speedy and permanent core cf Ague and Fever, or Chills and Fever, whether of short or long standing. He refers to the entire Western and Southwestern country to bear him testimony to the trath of the assertion, that In no case whatever will it fail to cure, if the directions are strietly followed and carried out. In a great many oases a single dose has been sufficient for a cure, and whole families have been cured by a single bottle, with a

It is, prudent, and in every ease more oertain to cure, if its use is continued in smaller dosea fo a week or two after the disease has been checked more especially in difficult and long standing cases.
