Circuit Com?.
Cur Circuit Court has adjourned. Sinco our Just report, mcst of the remainder of tho term was spent in trying tho case of tho State vs. Amanda Mitchcll, chargod with infanticide.— The killing was admitted, but the piea of insanity proved effectual, and the defendant was acquittod, the jury remaining out all night, howover, before agreeing.
Lutes, tho hog thief, was scntStidfcd for four years: and Marsh Lyon, for stealing wheat, for tuo years. The docket was not nearly all disposed of. There will be a, call session of the Court in December.
Mr. JOHN PURDUE and bill bowers havo •got possession of tho copperhead party in this 3'istrict, and are running tho. concern on tho .I'hiladelphia-negro-suffrage-demi-John-son platform. Thoy both avow themselves Republicans, and sny they have not changed.

At'e trust nil Union men will be on their guard, rind, look out for illegal voters. By reference to a letter published in this paper, it will be seen that the Copperhead? have been making arrargements to shiji a lot of Kentucky rebels into our State to carry the elections in closely contested counties. The C'oppctheacls have no hopes of succeeding in Boouo or Hendricks counties, and will, no doubt, try to import voters from those counties into Montgomery, in order to defeat the will of the loyal pcojilc. Wc say be on the aiort, nm! give all such a hot reception. The State is safe for twenty thousand Union majority, and Montgomery county is certainly ours if we do our duty* It is as necessary to watch, as it is to pray.
Bowen, the pensioned hireling of the RericK. has the impudcncc to apply the term rncrccntt: to the editor of this paper. We bought the JOURXAT, ofSco with our own money, and paid for it, and all we ask or receive for our labor is pay lor what wo honestly earn in our legitimato business. It is owned by a few Copparhcad leaders, whoso commands Bowen is bound to obey •with as much obsequiousness as ever a Southern slave did that of his master. Wc hurl back with scorn the slanderous imputation, with the declaration, that wc prefer honest prinejplos and exalted manhood to truckling subsemcncy and slavish restraint. i.
