"Murder Will Out.1"—Slnrilerers Arrested. Or, Tuesday evening last, the boil}' of My or Ham. who was missing some two months ago, vas found by -Mr. Isaac Davis, on-his farm, near Alamo. Jlis skull had been, mashod in with a club, and the body thrown behind a log, and covered with brush. The
l)Qdv,
although ihucll decomposed, was
easily identified by those acquainted with him. '•"'On 3*estcrdav tho following named persons were arrested and committed to jail, where they will bo held till next Saturday when a preliminary examination will tako placo in this city, viz: John C. Harrison, John M.
Little, John Campbell, Jonathan Ilam. and Jos. Ingersoll. McKenzie, Willis, and Mary Stump had previously been arrest'ed and lodged in jail on a charge of stealing money from tho deceased last March,
Commencement Week. Tho Commencement oxercises of Wabash College passed off this week with satisfaction to the Professors, the students and spectators. Tho graduating class consisted of nine young men, most of whom gavo promise b}T their graduating speeches, of usefulness and distinction. The oration to tho Associated Alumni, by Rev. II. C. Ilovey, of Massachusetts, was universal!}* pronounced a "good thing." The address of Hon. James Wilson, to the two Societies, was devoted to a consideration of the National Constitution —its history, the attacks made upon it by its enemies, See., &c. It was a line production, sound in its political character, and if its lessons shall be heeded and studied by the young men to whom it was addressed, will prove as'useful to them, as it was entertaining to the erowdc^d audience that listened to it with breathless attention. Tho number of strangers in attendance from abroad, was largo and eveiything connected with tho exercises, went to show the flourishing condition of the College.
Tlse Fourth.
Tho good people of Waveland are making preparations for a celebration of our ^National Sabbath by a picnic, in the vicinity of that placo to which all are invited'." P. S. KENNEDY-, Esq., of this city, has accepted an invitation to deliver an oration on the occasion.
Preparation's are also making for celebrating at both Ladoga and Meharry's Camp Ground.
The Crawfordsvillians, wo suppose, will fail to celebrate this year owing in part, to the fact, that such activity is manifested for a gala day, by the citizens of tho above mentioned sections of our county any of which are within tho reach of this people.
From notices in our exchanges, we iudgo the day will bo moro universally celebrated this yoar, than over before. Tho grand State celebration, by the soldiers at Indianapolis, promises to be tho. most imposing affair of tho kind ever witnessed in Ihc State.
Casualties of Saturday. Saturday last, it appears, proved an uniucKy day to several of our country citizens, while in the city. Among the accidents occurring during tho day, wo hear of the running away of two 2horse teams, namely that of Mr. Quillen, which brought up by coming in contact with another vehicle, killing one of Mr. Q.'s horses almost instantly. No person mentioned as seriously injured. Second, that of Mr. "W. A. Nicholson, upsetting tho wagon, by which Mrs. N. had one of her leg3 brokien. Her injuries otherwise, are not thought to be at all serious.
-1 Personal.
Our highly esteemed and talented friend, SAM. '0. CRAKE, Esq., oditor of tho Stato Temperance Journal, Indianapolis, we notice, is stopping in dim^ity this week. Mr. G., we understand, is announced as orator of tho day at Delphi, on the coming Fourth. Sam. is not only a ready-think-cr and wit, but an able speaker and when it comes to celebrating: our National Sabbath, though amongst strangers, is always at homo.
OUR BAND.—TheSilver Band of this city, goes to Indianapolis on Tuesday next, in response to an invitation, to attend the grand State soldiers' celebration of, the Fourth.
