BILL. BOWERS' FIFTH ANNUAL ADDRESS!

LADIES & GENTLEMEN:

of

After four years of untiring energy in the Dry Goods business in your midst, during which time we flatter ourselves, you have appreciated our efforts to please from the very liberal patronage you have bestowed upon us, for which you have our most sincere thanks.

We would again say to you that we are now receiving and offering direct from the Importers and Manufacturers, as large, complete and magnificent stock of Dry Goods as we or any other man ever offered in the Wabash Valley; all of which were purchased since the fall of Richmond, during the great panic, and will be sold on our old motto— for cost and just a little more.

Houses who purchased before that time, stand from under, for we intend to astonish everybody. We can and mill undersell all competition.

We have closed out during the last forty days all our high priced goods, and if you wish to make twenty cents on every dollar of your purchases, do not fail to call at the Banner and examine, and be no longer faithless but see and believe, say to you that

THE

BANNER

SOLD.

WILL NOT BE UNDER-

You will please bear in mind that the Banner has always been the last house to put prices up, and the first to let them down!

Our stock this spring will be full and complete, so you need not run around to small mammoths or other one-horse houses, as you can get all you want at the Banner. Womens' Shoes at 75 cents per pair; good Prints at 20 cents per yard; good bleached muslin at 20 to 30 cents per yard; best styles spring De Laines and Chalies at 30 cents per yard; and all other goods lower than can be bought in any other house.

In conclusion, we would say to all come, for now is the time and the Banner the place.

For the great rebellion's ended, And Davis run away; General Lee has surrendered,

And Grant has won the day!

And the Stars and Stripes are waving Where traitors once did dwell Slavery's Moloch couldn't save them,

So they took a trip to

Whilst things are thus upheaving, The Banner's still alive, And those who patronize it

Then come ye poor and needy,— Then come ye rich and poor, We'll always greet you welcome

Our Ladies treat you civil, And show you goods so cheap, You will hardly stop to grumble

At the price of wheat.

And if you're fond of gassing, Just give the Boss a call He will tell you what's the reason
