Well known to be the host for Manufacturing purposes: A'o. 1, Shuttle Machine, formerly sold at $90,

Singer's JLctler «Machine,

1?irig

the best Machine in the world for Family Sewand Light Manufacturing Purposos. Price, with Ilnnmcr beautifully ornamented, $50.

Wo would ask for our Lettor A Machines, th? special attention of Vest Makers and Dress Makers, and all those who want Machines for light manvfacturinr/ purposes. They embody 'the principles of the Manufacturing Machines, making, like them, the interlocked stitch, and are destined to be as celebrated for FAMILY SETTING and light manufacturing purposes as ptirManufaelairilig^MwjJiincs are for-manufacturing'purposes in^ofiCTafj-f^

FAMILY SEWING MACHINES are valuable in proportion t,3 the numbor of things they can do well. See what ours can do beforo making a purchase.

There is no doubt as to the value of our Machines for manufacturing purposos, but it is only of late that tho public began to learn that the essential elements of a machine best adapted to the heaviest work, would also bo the elements to be embodied in a Family Machine. It is. now well understood that our Letter A Machine is the.only Family Machine yet offered to the public which has simplicity, rapidity, durability, and certainty of correct action. \Vhile as a general thing, tho scwing-ma-chine people arc candid enough to acknowledge that our machines are unequalled for manufacturing purposes, they are almost- sure to assert, in the same breath, that Singer's Letter A,, or Family Machines, are not aa.gqoil aetfwirsl- This is i^niere trick of the trjide, atnd wcxonfidentl^Jnvitb those interested in the subject to examine forthems.elves and see what our Letter A Family Machinies, with all the decent improvements, are capable of doing. While they will sew the most delicate material to perfection, as already stated, they are also adapted to light manufacturing purposes, And this/ be it remembered, cannot be said .of any of. the other Family Machines yet offered to the public.

The Nos. 1 and 2 Macliines^axe of great capacity and application for manufacturing purposes. Our No. 3 Machines are epjpeeially adapted to all kinds of light and heavy Beather Work, in Carriage Trupming, .Boot and ^hoe Making, Harness Making, etc., etc.j, They are of extra size, with an arm long enough to take under it and stitch the largest sized dasbe=. Thero is s&arc.ely any part of a Trimmer's stitchiiig that cannot be bettor done with them than by'hand so', tob? the saving of timo and labor is very great. The lable of thesc machines i^ 24 inches l^ng, and theshiitflffwin hold six times as much thread lis the shuttle' of those used for tailoring purposes, Tho large machines work as fast as small ones.

We have always on hand, Hemming Guages, Silk Twist, Linen and Cotton Thread on Spools, best Machine Oil in Bottles, etc., otc.

Wo manufacture our own Needles, and would warn all persons using our machines not to buy any others. Wc know that there are needles sold of the most inferior quality, at highor prices than we charge for the best. The needles sold by us are manufactured especially for our machines. A bad needle may render the working of the best machine almost useless.

Our custoiners^ may rest assured that all our Branch .Offices arc furnished with the "genuine article."

In case of small purchases, the money may be sent in postage stamps, or bank notes. ."^^Correspondents will please write their namgs distinctly. It is all important that wc should, in each r-ase, know the Post Office, County and State. •g^_All persons requiring information about Se^vinf Machines, their sizes, priccs, working capacities, and tho best mcthods-of purchasing, can obtain it by lending to us, or any of our Branch Offices for a copy of "I. M. Slngrer &. Co.'s1 Gazette." Which is a beautiful Pictorial Paper entirely devoted to the subject.—It will be sent yratis.

^tT-Wc have made the ubovc REDUCTION T!s PltlCES with the "two-fold view of benefiting the public and ourselves. Tho public have been swindled by spurious machines made in imitation of ours. The metal fn them, from the iron easting to the smallest pioce, is of poor quality. Their makers have not tho means to do their work well.— They are hid away in secret plate.", whsroit would bo impossible to have at their command tho proper mechanical appliances. It is only by doing a great business, and having extensive manufacturing establishments, that good machines can "bcitiade at moderate prices. The best designed machines,, i:,yn-

LY

MA'IE, are always liable to got out of ortfer, rind arc Mire to cost considerable trouble'and money to keep thorn in repair. .The qualities to be looked for in a aehinc, are: certainty of correct action at all rates of speed, simplicity of construction, great durability, and rapidity of operation, with the least labor. Mitch ines'to combine these essential qualities, mtist be made of the best metal and finished to perfection.

Vie have the ways and means, on a grand, scale, to do this. The purchasers of Machines, whose daily bread it may concern, will find that those having tho abovcqualitics not only work well at rapid as well as slow.rates of speed, but last long in tho finest possible working .order. Our machines, as made by

HI,

will earn more money with less labor than any others, whether in imitation of ours, or,not. Jn fact, they "are cheaper than any othe$JMachincs"as a gift Local agents wanted....^ 7

TME DAY SCHOOL BELL.

•r 35,000 COPIES ISSUED. -v. .y A new Singing Book for Day Schools, called tho Day School Bell, is now ready. It contains about 200 choico songs, rounds, catches, duotts, trios, quartetts and choruses, many of them written expressly for this work, besides 32 pages of the Elements of Music. The Elements are so easy and progressive, that ordinary teachers will find themselves entirely successful in instructing even young scholars to sing correctly and scientifically while the tunes and words embrace such a variety of lively, attractive, and soul-stirring musicandsentiments, that 110 trouble will be experienced in inducing all beginners to go on with zeal in acquiring skill in one of tho most health-giving, beautyimproving, happiness-yielding, and order-produ-cing exercises of school lil'c. In simplicity of its elements, in variety and adaptation of music, and in excellence and number of its songs, original, selected, and adapted, it claims by much to excel all competitors. It will be found the best ev.er issued forseminaries, academies, and public schools. A few sample pages of the elements, tunes, and songs, are given in a circular: send and get one.
