Fever and Ague,
from which mankind suffer over a large part of the globe, is the Consequence of a diseased^ action in the system, induced by the poisonous miasm of vegetable d«cay. This exhalation is evolved by the action of solar heat on wet soil, and rises with the watery vapor from it. While the sfiu is below the horizon this vapor lingers near the earth's surface, and the virus is taken with it through the lungs into the blood. There it acts as an irritating poison on the internal viscera and excreting organs of the body. The liver becomes torpid and tails to secrete not only this virus, but also the bile from the blood. Both the virus and the bile accumulate hi the circulation, and produce violent constitutional disorder. The spleen, the kidneys, and the stomach sympathize with the ffver, and becom# disordered also. Finally, the instinct of our organism, as if in an attempt to expel the noxioua infusion, concentrates the whole blood of the body in the internal excretories to force them to cast it out. The blood leaves the surface, and rushes to the central organs with congestive violence. Thi« is the CHILL. But in this effort it fails. Then th« FEVER follows, in which the Wood leaves the central organs and rushes to the surface, as if in another effort to expel the irritating poison through that other great excrctory the skin. In thii also it fails, and the system abandons the attempt exhausted, and waits for the recovery of strength to repeat the hopeless effort another day. These are the fits or paroxysms of FEVER AND AOUK. Such constitutional disorder will of course undermine the health if it is not removed.
We havi labored to find, and have found, an antidote,
Ayers Ague Cure,
which neutralizes this malarious poison in tha blood, and stimulates the liver to expel it from the body. As it should, so it does ewe this afflicting disorder with perfect certainty. And it does more, or rather does what is of more service to those subject to this infection. If taken in season it expel* it from the system as it is absorbed, and thus keeps those who use it free from its attacks keeps the system in health although exposed to the disease. Consequently it not only cures, but protects from, the great variety of affections which are inducea by this malignant influence such as Remittent Fever, Chill Fever, Dumb, or Masked Ague, Periodical Headache, or Bilious Headache, Bilious Fevers, Neuralgia, Rheumatism, Gout, Blindness, Toothache, Earache, Catarrh, Asthma, Palpitations, Painful Affections of the Spleen, Hysterics, Colic, Paralysis, and Painful Affections of the Stomach ana Bowels, all of which, when arising from this cause, will be found to assume more or less the intermittent type. This AGUE CURE removes the cause of these derangements, and CU.-M the disease.
This it accomplishes by stimulating the excretories to expel the virus from the system and these organs by degrees become habited to do this their olfice of their own accord. Hence arises what we term avclimataticn. Time may accomplish the same end, but often life is not long enough, or is sacrificed in the attempt, while this AGUE CURB does it at once, and with safety. We have great reason to believe this is a surer as well as safer remedy for the whole class of diseases which are caused by the miasmatic infection, than any other which has been discovered and it has still another important advantage to the public, which is, tha# it is cheap as well as good.

Delinquent Tax-Payers!
A
LL who know themselves delinquent on the Tax Duplicate of Montgomery County for the year 1800, and previous to that time, are requested to make payment of the same on or before the
PiRST DAY OF AUGUST NEXT,
As by so doing will save cost. Tho law makes it the duty of the County Treasurer to collcut all Taxes due, and my intention is to fill the law to the letter. "When a Treasurer fails to collect all Taxes, or collects from one portion of the people and not from the other, he fails to discharge his duty, for the law makes all men equally able to pav. Tho man that has only One Hundred Dollars'worth of property has but about $1 of Taxes to pay, and the man with One Thousand Dollars' worth of property has about $10 to pay so you can see at once that all men are equally able to pay, and all men have the same privileges under tho law alike, and should all pay their equal portion of Taxes and when the Treasurer fails to collect of one portion of the people and collects from the other, he suffers the paying portion to be imposed upon. From this fact, if the amount of Taxes in this County is One Hundred Thousand Dollars, andTwcnty-five Thousand of thatamount is delinquent, of course the Taxes will still be higher on those that pay promptly fcr there has got to be so much money raised, and those that pay up promptly have to "foot the bill." Now the law is as follows in regard to collecting Delinquent Taxes: The Treasurer can take any personal property and sell is at any time and there is no property exempt in any way whatever. There is no ono that would as much dislike to take and sell property from any one as myself, but there is not ii or cannot be, anythingwrong in so doing. Those who have not paid, and fail to do so within the next three months, will find the law carried out without respect to persons. So please call and settle on or before the lime specified, and all will be right. W. II. SCHOOLER,
May 1,1861. Treasurer of M. C. may 23-6w.
