NEW DISCOVERIES IN OLD

MONTGOMERY!

Confidence Restored in Some Diggings!

WE

see from various statements gfven thro' the columns of public prints, in reference to thft success of many who have gone west for the purpose of seeking the precious ore, that the expedition has proved nearly an entire failure and that they are now satisfied that "it is not all gold that glitters." Many doubtless who are now rusticating in the western wilds, would be glad were they but at home, among acquaintan cesand friends, in this our promised land, where peace and plenty abounds. To those iu our community, who have been anticipating a tour to this unsafe country of the west, we wish to speak. If you are not of that turn of mind, unsusceptible of persuasion, or impregnable to truth and common sense, we can convince you in a few moments that any energetic, thorough-going man among us can save more money, if not direct ly made, by staying at home, and buying his Goods of

SIIUE & EPPERSON

Than can possibly be made by visiting the gold fields of Pike's Peak. These men we know have a large and unsurpassed stock of Staple and Fancy

at low figures—enough for each, enough for all— and this cannot be said in truth in reference to the gold bearing country in question. No, no, it is a work of deception, agitated for the purpose of entrapping and flcccing the masses, for the enrichment of a few. Remember that "seeing is believing," and without the privilege of thus exercising this power of vision, there should be but little action. Then, with this view of things, we can but say to you as a friend,

DR. M'LANE'S

CELEBRATED

VERMIFUGE A.^T

LIVERPILLS.

"YyE beg leave to call the attention of the Trade, and more especially the Physicians of the country, to two of the most popular remedies now before the public. We refer to

Dr. Chas. M'Lane's Celebrated

Vermifuge and Liver Pills.

We do not recommend them as universal Cure-alls, but simply for what their name purports, viz.:

THE VERMIFUGE, For expelling Worms from the human system. It has also been administered with the most satisfactory results to various Animals subject to Worms.

THE LIVER PILLS, For thecure of LIVER COMPLAINTS, all BILIOUS DERANGEMENTS, SICK HE AD-ACHE, &C. In cases of

FEVER AND AGUE,

preparatory to or after taking Quinine, they almost invariably make' a speedy and permanent cure.

As specifics for the above mentioned diseases, they are Unrivaled, and never known to fail when administered in accordance with the directions.

Their unprecedented popularity has induced the proprietors, FLEMING BROTHERS,

PITTSBURGH, PA.

to dispose of their Drug business, in which they have been successfully engaged for the last Twenty Years, and they will now give their undivided time and attention to their manufacture. And being determined that Dr. M'Lane's Celcs brated Vermifuge and Liver Pillsshall continue to occupy the high position they now hold among the great remedies of the day, they will continue to spare neither time nor expense in procuring the Best: and Purest material,- and compound them in the most thorough manner.
