Resolved, That nothing short of tho entire removal of all intoxicating liquors from Mich establishments as have heretofore been known as retail liquor shops (or doggeries,) will be received as testimony from those who have the control of such establish riicnts a« an honest intention, to cease the prosecution of their nefarious traffic. 'Resolved, That if any of the liquor sellers in town 'should conclude to discontinue their traffic peaceably as contemplated in the foregoing resolutions— they should show satisfactory evidence of having done so, previous to the first day of Januaiy, to a committee that may be appointed by the citizens to receive such testimony.

Teachers' Convention at doga. The Teachers of Western Indiana, convened in the Chapel of the Ladoga Academy, on the evening of Nov. 26.
Prof. Hunter, of,Bainbridge, was appointed temporary Chairman and after prayer by Rev. G. Williams, Prof. John
Young of Indianapolis, delivered a lecture on the "Laws of Life and Health," to a largo and attentive audience.
After some pleasantries from the Teachew, the Convention adjourned to meet on Satuiday, at 9 o'clock, A. M.
At the morning session, Prof. Iladley, of Crawfordsville, was appointed Chairman, and R. M. Johnson, Secretary.

Constitution and report at the January meeting. L. S. Kilborn, D. E. Hunter and R. M. Johnson, were appointed to take charge of Educational Departments in such papers as can be secured for that purpose.
It was resolved by tho Convention that the next session be held in the Ladoga Academy Chapel, on the third Friday and Saturday iu Januaiy, 1859.
At tho afternoon session, Prof. Campbell, of rawfordsville, delivered a lecture on "Piofessional Enthusiasm," and Prof. Hadley road an essay on Spelling.

Prices at the close were nominal receipt* large and beyond expectation.
Mess Pork has declined to $17, and was offered at that rate freely.

Ordinance.
Sec. 1st. Be it Ordained by the President and Trustees of the town of Crawfordsville, that hereafter, all places within the Corporate limits of the town of Crawfordsville, wherein intoxicating liquors are kept and sold by the dram or drink, shall be deemed a public nuisance, every person who shall erect, continue, or maintain any such nuisance within the corporate limits of Said town, shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined for every day the same is kept ten dollnrs.
Sec. 2nd. Be it further Ordained, that after any person shall have been convicted of erecting, keeping, or maintaining any such public nuisance. the court trying the cause and assessing the tine, shall make ita partof the Judgment that such nuisance be abated and removed, and shall order the Marshal of the town or any officer of said court to abate the same.

Therefore noticc of the filing and pendency of said complaint is hereby given to said non resident defendant, Jonathan S. Owens, that lie appear on the first day of the next term of said Court, to be holden in the Court House at Crawfordsville, in said county of Montgomery, commei c'ng on the second Monday in March next (1859) and answer said complaint.
