1 lie report of Mr. Barnes on the object of ICoimal Schofils was taken np for

adoption by the Convention. A spirited debate aiose, when it was agreed topostciic action on it rntil collated with the report of the Superintendent of Public Inulrnction.

On motion, the Assoriati\n adjourned r.ntil evening, wlien it convened to listen

to an address by J. M. Bryant, of Wil liamsport.

Tbe Convention is numerously attended —a large proportion of the members being women. In appeaiance the association is superior, intellectually, to the majority of Conventions that assemble here.

tffI he Teachers' Association spent most of tlie day yes ton! ay in listening to reports rnc! addresses. They were all too long for lis to report, or notice at any length. Some of them were dull and heavy, to us, ,, but may have been enfertHining to members of the Convention. The majority of

them, we think, were too long «nd much too tedious. „.

J- Huity, of Bifbmond, from a Commiitee on memorializing the Legislature, made a report on Tuesday evening, which was submitted lo tha Convention and a.adopted.
