Being associated with a gentleman in Washington City who has been connected with the General Land Office for many years, all claims intrusted to my care will receive prompt attention. The advantage of having a responsible Agent at the Department is, that claims will be attended to without delay, while those sent to the Commissioner are often crowded out for many months. A. CUSHMAN & CO., solo Proprietor?, 122 Fulton srrcct N. York, The Great Peculiarity of Dr. Mr McClintock's Pectoral Fluid, is that in all chronic diseases of the throat and lungs, as in Bronchitis and Consumption, in all their forms and stages it may be taken by the most delicate patient with perfect safety.—

It contains no morphine, or opium in any shape, or tartar emetic one or both of which injurious drugs, enter tho composition of nearly all the common remedies for pectoral complaints. It is pleasant to the palate, produces no nausia or debility, but may be taken freely and constantly, with the certain result of strengthening the stomach and renovating the entire system while healing and soothing the irritated organs, and producing gradually a perfect cure. As the tried prescription of an eminent physician, it is rapidly coming into use, in place of the injurious nostrums with which the country is flooded. Price, in pints, $1

Dr. McClintock's Cold and Cough Mixture.— Colds and recent Coughs, especialy if accompanicd by fever or inflammatory excitemcnt, rci'iuiere a remedy different in charactcr from the Pectoral Syrup, which is so valuable in chronic complaints.

PURIFYixo THE BLOOD.—The following from the N.Y. Tribune will doubtless be very seasonable to all who seek not only to preserve their health, but to guard against all possible contingenccs which threaten to distro}' it: "We would call special attention to tho importance of purifying the blood. Nothing is so prevalent at this season of the year as a gross and sluggish state of the blood. \Ve have no hesitation in recommending to those who would preserve their health through the dangers of this climate, a free use of the best purifying medicine known to modern science, viz: Dr. McClintock's Tonic Alterative Syrup. This' remedy is not only delightful to the taste, but perfectly safe and rapid in its effects. It stimulates the liver and other glands to natural action, gives tone and new vigor to all the functions, and enables them to throw off 11 unhealthy accumulations. We have heretofore alluded to the great and extending popularity of Professor McClintock, ,as a practitioner. It was well known in Philadelphia that his success in the in the treatment of disease was uncomonly great.— His medicines were few, simple and uniformly vegetable, while they often produced cures in cases that had been givsn up for hopeless to the surprise of all. Among the most successful of those remedies, beyond doubt, stands Dr. McClintock's Tonic Alterative Syrup, as a purifier and renovator ow tho blood-" Price $1 six bottles for $5.

BROOKS A CAMPBELL.

The Winter Term will open on the 8nd day of January, 1855. Under the efficient management of tho President of the institution, Rev. JAIICS H. JOHNSTON, who gives his entire time to the government and instruction of the school.

The Trustees and Teachers would express tholr gratitude to the citizens of Crawfordsville, for the liberal patronage they have thus far afforded, and solicit alike liberality in fnture.

The course of iustruction is thorough, and special atttcntion is paid to the moral and religious, as well as, intellectual training of the pupils, while nothing of sectarian character is allowed.

It is exceedingly desirable that the scholars should be prompt in their attendance at the begin-, ning of the term. Tho new sahool room handsomely furnished with Wales' patent desks and cliaii-s, is now rendy for the accommodation of the Seminary. The room is spacious and will be lound pleasant and attractive. The assistant teachers are Miss CATHARINE MEHHIL, MISS ELLEN CATHCAKT. and Miss ELIZA HOWES, teacher of music.
