The objects aimed at in this Department are. first, to remedy the great and lamcntsbie effects in the present system of female education, by trainimr the mind to a more active, accurate, and practical mode of thought, and imparting that thorough knowledge of business matters as to make them more soli-reliant and inilependent than they now are.
Ar.d, second, to open up new and more profitable sources of employment for females who arc obliged to earn a scanty subsistence by the hard and Irving labors of the needle, or the irksome and poorlv paid duties of the teacher, by qualifying them'for the less arduous but more profitable duties of an accountant.
Terms and regulations the same in both Departments. Ladies from abroad will be furnished board in private families, who will exercise kind parental care over them during their stay.
Xo lady need hesitate coming, or no parent to send his daughter, through fidse motives of delicacy, as to interference with the Ladies on the part of the Gentlemen is r.rvcr aiiowed.
