Everybody should attend the children's entertainment to-night to be given at the Presbyterian church. Admission 5 cents.

Paul Campbell received a paper from Merge Micheals, who is in the Philippine Islands. The paper is called the "Freedom," and is edited by an American at Manila. Subscribers must pay ten dollars a year if they wish to hear from our (so called) greater America. There is not much but advertisements in it, and that is for saloons. It seems there is a good lot of fellows over there making capitalists of themselves, or at least trying to.

One hundred and two persons gathered at the Hotel Clark to celebrate the 66th birthday of Mr. Clark and the 27th birthday of Mr. Coombs. The day was very gloomy without, raining all the time, yet in doors it was all gaiety and pleasantry. The dinner was all that one could wish, and the guests wore happy, smiling faces. Surely no one left without taking with them a wish for many more happy birthdays for Messrs. Clark and Coombs.

Whtn completed we will have nice rooms to remove our stock to and pleasant rooms to sell goods iu We thank our patrons and friends who have traded with us so long at the old corner, and ask them to continue with us at our new place, and it will always be cur aim to treat our customers with the best of satisfaction, and we ask our customers if auything is wrong to come to the firm with their complaint and we will right it.. After December 8th we will adopt the cash business in the grocery. Every ivticle will be sold for cash in the grocery line, and we will give prices that will con v. nee the customer that it pays to buy for cash. We cannot give low prices and sell grootric on credit, and this is the reason we adopt the cash system in groceries. We want to say that we are selling a great maDy ar tides at le^s than we can buy them to-day, as we do not want to move them. We will continue part of our store at the old stand until aftei the first of January to close out a great many articles that we do not want to move. It is a good time to buy goods in our line now as everything has advanced from 20 to 30 per cent. You will find that we are selling goods much cheaper in Furniture, Stoves, Queensware and Glassware than they can be bought later. Thankiug you all for past favors, we remain Yours Respectfully,
