Sam Cash was in BalhiDch Sunday. Dan Keller hauls wood to town every day.
Isaac Jones was in Balhinch last week. Mrs. McDaniel's father is better at this time.

We saw the Eltndale scribe in the city la6t Saturday looking hale and hearty. He grew up in Balhinch and that's what makes him so good looking.
If Polly Pacer is starving to get married she can be accommdated if she will call on some of the young bloods in Balhinch for they want to marry and all Polly will have to do will be to let them know she is in the market and she can have her choice out of a hundred and don't forget it. See!

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snyder are very happy—a girl at last. Rev. A. M. Snyder, of Danville, 111., preached Monday night.
Lon Fisher, of Rossville, is visiting his cousin, Mrs. Williard Paine. Bert Breaks and wife are happy—girl —150 pounder—Florence Boraker.
Robert Troutman and wife, of Longview, were out Sunday to spend the day with old Sanday.
A number of the church folks, including the preacher, ate dinner at Alcano's last Sunday.
Ella Goliday, Ona Grandstaff and some town girls were the jolly guests of Ade and Art Duncan last Sunday.
The.v say the finest sermon of the revival was preached ou last Sunday night. It was a thistorical discourse by Rev. Mater.
The preacher gave some good advise to those nasty tobacco chewera on Wednesday night of last week. lie told them to place their cuds on chips and lsave them 011 the outside. He would guarantee that nothing would molest them.
On Friday of last week, a turkey hen was discovered in Ira Couger's woods, setting on thirteen turkey eggs, tive of which were frozen. Some folks may not believe Jjtbis statement, but Ira Couger |and George Smith vouch for its truthfullnees.
How about that fox that haB been stealing my chickens, did you say? Why, it turned out to be a skunk. The trap seized him by OBe of the forelegs. Gee whiz, but he was mad, and when I approached him he commenced to tight me. 1 left the scene mighty quick, steeped in reminiscences war ranted not to fade.

Everybody is 111 favor of the new road running into town except a few, they should be.
Mr. Wilson, our hack man, comes to town twice a week. He is all tight and a good horse trader.
A1 Utterback was in town this week and purchased four wheels and said he was going to make himself and wife a bicycle.
Now Mr. Elmdale as we can not come up at present will say for you to come down and we will go over to Joe's and have a time.

James Wa'necott has been quite sick this week.
Ilal Martin, of Craw rordsvillc. v. here this week. It is reported that c-iril« will bn out for a wedding soon.
May Ross hasbeen visiting in White county for three weeks. Marks D. Bowers and Miss Viney Dazey were married on the 21st.
Dr. Swank has moved to Crawfordsville where he will practice medicine. Several farmers are done husking corn and report wheat looking bad.
The people at the M. E. church had a good time at the dedication of their church.
Charley Daaey was present at the marriage of Uncle Thos. Doran's granddaughter. fie says he had a nice time and that there were about three hundred people present.
Now, Elmdale, we did not want to in suit you by wanting to know what had become of a few of the boys, but a "coon" is always ready for a fight. We were sorry to hear that Ben Swank had bursted his "btler."

The jury at Marion quickly found George Mouser, attorney, not guilty of attempted blackmail, the defense introducing but three witnesses,
Joshua Null, a pioneer of Delaware county, two weeks ago scratched his
hand on a nail. Blood poison developed and his death occurred. The libel suit brought by Commissioners VanCleve and Cheever, of Jennings county, against C. P. Butler, editor of the North Vernon Sun, has been dismissed at plaintiffs' cost.
William. Koopman, of Terre Haute, who defrauded a number of outside firms, operating under the name of the Terre Haute Mill Supply Company, was arrested before he succeeded in leaving the city K'V
Mrs. William Fore, of Daviess county, is suing Mrs. Delilah Fore, her mother-in-law, and John F. Fore, a brother-in-law, claiming S"),000 damages and alleg. ing that they alienated her husband's affections.
