Ice cream, cake, melons and grapes wfre served at Mt Zion on last Saturday night. I had some shopping to do in the city and could not be present. I understood some town girls and boys were out, and went home with frigid feelings. Owing to the coolness of the weather, the crowd was not as large as it otherwise would have been, consequently the exchequer of the church is not bulging out from the proceeds.

Hog Heaven ia getting to be a popular place for picnics. A party of picnicers were having a merry time in Remley's woods, the other day. Their bill of fare consisted, among other good things, of bottled pickles, bottled catchup, etc., but they had neglected to bring a corkscrew to open the bottles, aud one of the men had to run all over the neighborhood in a fruitless effort to buy, beg or borrow one. Everybody seemed to be just out of this little article. Now, no we'l-managed picnic should be without a corkscrew. If you have no bottled goods to open, it may come handy in opening a conversation.
