Does Baby Thrive?
If your baby is delicate and sickly and its food does not nourish it, put fifteen or twenty drops of Scott's Emulsion in its bottle three or four times a day and you will see a marked change.
We have had abundant proof that they will thrive on this emulsion when other food fails to nourish them.
It is the same with larger children that are delicate. Scott's Emulsion seems to be the element lacking in their food. Do not fail to try it if your children do not thrive. It is as useful for them in summer as in winter^
Ask you.' doctor if this is not true.

Ruling in the Hutton Case. Tuesday morning Judge West overruled the demurer to the seperate answer of ex-treasurer J. C. Hutton to the complaint against him in the suit brought by the county to recover money alleged.to be due the county from him as treasurer. The decision regards the excess in salery between the settlement under the old law and the new fee and salary law and relieves the bondsmen from liability for $2,800. It was charged ir the complaint that Mr. Hutton had settled under the old law when he should have settled under the new law. Judge West found that Mr. Ilutton had settled under the old law but he found a circumstance wl ich he held legalised the settlement. It seems that the supreme court had once held the old law good and then later on reversed its own decision and held the new law to be the one valid. In the interim Mr. Hutton had made his settlement. Judge West held that the settlement when made was perfectly legal and that he did not believe it would be right to hold the bondsmen for this money. He thought the people should stand between individuals and the errors of the courts of the people.

The Boys Who Refused to Enlist
Are Subjected to Vile Roasts, t:
In speaking of those boys tf ho refused to enlist iu the service after going to Camp Mount the Indianapolis Journal of Tuesday has the following to say of the second regiment of which Co. M. was a part: "The second regiment suffered considerble depletion in its ranks yesterday, when another request was made of the men not desiring to enlist to leave the ranks. The interrogation was made by each captain to his company, and after the weak ones hfjd been weeded out it was found that the regi ment had suffered a tdtal of 2iJl men who have left the regiment. This however will not crip le the regiment seriously, the out-of-town companies being well equipped with men, and applications for enlistment by Indianapolis young men are coming in rapidlyenough to till all vacancies in the three local companies. All that will be required to put the second regiment on its proper footing will be the transfer of some superfluous men from one company to another. As the men left the grounds yesterday afternoon the soldiers who resolved to stick by their first resolution lined up on two sides of the road and fired remarks at them as they passed, expressing their contempt for their actions in deserting the service. Such cries as 'yellow dog' and 'white feather,' and 'cur,' 'go home to your mamma,' and 'get some milk sop' greated their ears at every step, while the band in derision played as they passed by 'Marching Through Georgia.' It is not to be supposed from this that all the men who went home yesterday were actuated by cowardice or tor rr.ercenary motives. The fact is, several of them have serious family obiigatioos at home, and consider that their duty in providing for them would be prompted by a higher order of patriotism than to go to was, when so many men weie avuiiable, and iccur a possibility of their dear ones being in want during their absence.''
The thirty-two members of Co. M, who returned this week are: Earl Gerard, James Blankenship. W. Douglas, James Green, Wm. Lamb, Pearl Bowers, Merge Michael, Watson Miller, Theodore Spillman, Chas. Pogue, Will Hirst, Richard Schweitzer, W. W. Wilson', T. H. Bradrick, Sidney arner, Gus A. Wray, Howard Sidener, Claud Stonebraker Guy Grimes, Paul Gerard,
