John Kirk butchered a beef Monday. Mrs. Ilarshbarger butchered hogs Tuesday.

The farmers are all about done shucking stock ccrn. Several in this neighborhood hauled gravel last week.

I'oro Dunbar ha-led logs to Kirk's saw-mill Monday. Ben Shills attended Sunday school at White church Sunday.

Kirk boys went hunting one day last week and killed sixty rabbits. Mrs. Fred Mitchel and Mrs. John

Fred Wilson is visiting his brother, Charley, at Rockville this week. Charley Hybarger and Robert GoS were iu Crawiordsville on Tuesday.

Aunt Ruth Todd was the guest of relatives in Crawfordsville part of last week.

Several froao hero attenced the K. of P. supper at Russellville last Wednesday night.

A variety supper will be given here in the parsonage on New Years Eve for the beaefit of the church.

Mrs. George Cooper has been called to Waveland by the death of her brother's baby, which has been sick for some time.

There II be a Christmas tree here on Friday night, Dec, 21. Everybody is cordially invited to attend and make it a success.

A rabbit hunt will be given again on Saturday. The weather was so bad the other time that the last hunt was not a

very good success, so let everybody go and n-.ake this one a grand success. The regular church meeting was held last Saturday evening as there was some business to attend to. There were thirtyeight persons excluded froin the churcb. Some of them wili go to the Independent Baptist church, some to other, churches, at some to no churcb. The church is left in good condition yet.

The church haR culled the Rev. Geo Janes to preaeb here the coming year, hut there will be no preaching until the second Sunday in January. There will be Young People's meeting every Sunday night. Rev. Janes preached here Sunday morning and evening to a large attendance, and they all seemed to like him and think he will make a good pas tor. lie will be here in the near future.

U.D. Servies transacted business in Indianapolis Saturday. John Bell, of Alamo, circulated among friends here last Monday.

Miss Anna Crawford, of Indianapolis, is the nurse with Mrs. Brush. A daughter made her advent into the home of Harry Day Tuesday.

Mrs. Julia Fletcher is visiting among friends at Marshall this week. Aaron Douglas and famiiy visited his parents injFountain county last week.

Sam Kelsey will move to Darlington soon to work for Swindler in the shoe store.

Esq. W. H. Brown is working for the S. J. Bell Publishing Company of Philadelphia.

G. W. Miles has increased his stock of groceries until now he carries a full line of everything.

John Dallas was in Lafayette the fore part of the week laying in a stock of leather, robes, etc.

A full half dozen of our young men were up before Esquire Brown for desecrating the Sabbath.

The Rev. S. P. Smith has received and accepted a call for part time to the pastorate of the Baptist church at Lodi.

It is remarkable the number of hogs that are being shipped from this place. They are constantly coming in from all points of the compass.

W. R. Childers will put in a new mil! out and out. The people should feel grateful to Mr.Childers for his enterprising spirit.

Mrs. Lida Dallas was called to Greencastle Tuesday night by a telegram stating that her grand child was not expected to live.

Mr. Hanfcins has purchased the barber shop and has employed Rov Buser to take charge of it. Warner Wray, our retiring barber.will resume the stu«'y of telegraphy.

Lewis Hicks and Miss Carrie Spenc'ewere quietly married Wednesday evening at the residence of Rev. McCalip, after which they were driven to the residence of the bride's parents where refreshments were served.

The ladies ot the M. E. church will conduct a fair at the Fletcher hall, Dec22nd and 23rd. One of the notable fea. tures will be a baby show on the afternoon of the 23rd. The prettiest baby will be handsomely rewarded with a very beautiful ring by H. D. Servies, the druggist.

Wm. Rapp was in Indianapolis Saturday. J. C. Knox waB in Indianapolis Tuesday.

C. Parker is paying Wm. Parker a visit. Thomas Scott went to Gosport on business.

It is something that Ladoga will have, a mill. Pat Daley has returned to his home in Frankfort.

Uncle Drake Brookshire was able to be out on the streets Saturday. Claude Bird, of Terre Haute, is visiting relatives here for a week or two.

Poud McGinnis and Bert Robbins were in Jamestown Monday on business.

The Ladoga Mandolin^club furnished music f'ir the opening of the K. of P. hall at RuHsellville.

George Vancleave, one of Urawfordsville's policemen, was in Ladoga, Tusday, on the hunt of a man that had forged a check. He was fcund in a saloon and arrested. He gave his name as Rambo, and was from Kentucky. Policeman Vancleave returned to Crawfordsville with his man on the night train.

Ladoga is like all other towns she has a gang of loafers that never protend to woik and make an honest dollar. Often they have had good offers to work, but would rather lie around ard sponge off some one else, or let their parents or wife do the work and then go and run tbem in debt. We have two small chil dren here that their father has sent them outjto pick up old cigar stubs blong the streets for him. You can see then making the round trip every day after school rain or Bhine. They even go back of the saloons and get the old ends of cigars that have been washed out of the cuspidors. One of the girls is quite small being about 7 or 8, and the other one is 14 or 15 years old. Not only the children but their father can be Been doing the same business. Some of the people that see him at it wonder what he does with them. He has been seen pick up old stubs and chew them in preference to working and buying hie tobacco.

Mr. Luther has moved to the southern part of the State. Skating by some of the boys was indulged in last week.

Who was it stole corn on the McDill farm? Report later on. The rabbit crop is quite plentiful quail and chicken scarce.

Col. Learning is ablejtobe out on the Btreets, and looks quite hearty considering bis age.

Our public school is well attended and the scholars all seem to be on the learn.

Ask the Romney republican where that prosperity is, and see him wink the other eye.

We are glad to hear that Linden people are all on the road to wealth now. Bully for old corn stalk.

Jobs Ogleby ia. running a butcher shop here and is well patronized. A right man in the right place.

Frank Hughes, John Crose, Jim Crose and several others will start a Bachelor's Hall in the near future.

F. M. Perkins, New Richmond's merchant prince, was a caller here Wednesday. He was looking after debtors.

Protracted meeting closed Sunday night with four additions. Quincy Dixon has moved into hie new house and Tommy Baldwin moved into the one vacated by him.

George Johnson moved to Roachdale Thursday where he will work in the saw mill with his father.
