Dora Lytle has brought suit against constable IJernley and bondsmen, claiming damages of $75 alleging an illegal execution upon her property.
Charles Johnson has been appointed assignee of the stock of groceries lately owned by Brick & Davis, and will control it until a purchaser for it is found.
Dr. Paul Barcus has gone to New York (Jity to take a six weeks' study in medicine. The office of coroner in the meantime will be tilled by 'Squire Hanna.
Two rooms in the Robbins House have been rented until January 1st for school purposes, and Miss Sibbett and Miss Barnhill will have charge of the schollars.
Miss Winnie Gerard will give a pie social at the Vail school house, in northwest Union township, Friday evening Oct. 22d. Everybody invited. Admission free.

Oak Hill cemetery is to be improved by the erection of an iron entrance gate, which is furnished by the Barbee Wire Works Uo. of Lafayette. Other improvements about this cemetery are contemplated.
