An Exciting Chase for the Latter from

Darlington to this City, and To

Saturday Hi^ht burglars liekl high carnival at Darlington and entered ami robbed a half dozi?r. residences in the town uflor which they succeeded in escaping without detection. The resi dence of George Kashner, Obe Galloway. Mrs. Kilmer, Francis I'ritehard, and one or two others were broken into an.! two or three gold watches, and some Hums of money taken. As soon as the robberies were discovered pursuit whs at onco instituted by Roe Miller aud his bloodhounds, two or three other citizens of Darliugton accompanying them.

They started about 1 o'cl.ick in the morning, the hounds taking to the Van dalia track and running rapidly in a southwest direction toward Crawfordsville. At the Walnut Fork bridgfl, a milt' or more northeast of town, the hounds were

'lose on to the thieves, who

were heard running through the fields webt of tho track, and which course the hounds moved in rapidly. Tho trail was continued west over Ileitis, a down uullies toward the poor farir, from there south to the Whitlock addition of town, tbe dogs near the stand pipe running \v«st to the Monon depot. Here the route of the thieves seemed north up tho railway traci, tho hounds followed it almost to the town o: Linden, whero t\ie course was changed due west, to the house of a farmer where pursuit was abandoned. Tho run of the hounds and ruen was for a distance of near thirty miles, and all were exhausted aud willing to stop, although itisgreatlv to be regretted that these miduight marauders were not captured. The prospect of the capturo and conviction is not very uncoil nitfinf,' at thiB time.

F. P. Olcott, Henry W. Poor and Ifoory C. Rouse, the bondholders'committee of tho Louisville, New Albany and Chicago Railroad, have prepared a plan and agreement for tho foreclosure of tho property and its transfer tT another corporation, and they invite all holders of the consolidated mortgage bonds, gen eral mortgage bonds and equipment bonds to deposit their securities with the Central Trust Trust Company.

Under the plan the tlxed charges are reduced to §698,4o0 for interest anil $210,000 for rentals, against a net earning capacity of Sl,0fl.1..''0S, the average during tho last tive years. A syndicate contributes 8'A100,000 whore with to redeem the various portions of the property now subject to liens, including equipment, terminals, shops, etc.. all of which will be vested in the new corporation under the proposed refunding mortgage.

Stockholders are allowed to subscribe for the stock of the new company in accordance with a proposal giving to the present preferrod stock an equal amount of common stock in the new corporation upon payment of §7.50 per share, for which an equal amount of new preferred stock is given in addition.

The common stock in the existing company receives the same recognition, at the rate of three shares of common stock being equivalent to one of preferred.

Ituried in One 4*rnvo. Thirty-tive hundred people and three hearses at one funeral is something that never occurred in Hamilton county until Sunday, when the remains of Albert Bray, together with the bodies of his wife and children, whom he murdered on Thursday -ight last, were buried. The services were held in the Hinkle creek church, seven miles northwest of Noblesville. By actual count',jtwentyBeven hundred people viewed the remains, while fully eight hundred people did not pass where tho bodirs lay. The entire family was buried in one grave, thin forty feet of tho church.

The Formal ('nil.

Indianapolis News: The Tabernacle church held its congregational meeting last night to hear the report of the pulpit committee, and decide whom it would call as its next pastor. The meeting attracted a large number of the church's members. The vote was by ballot, and it came within one of being unanimous for the Rev. II. F. Coyle, of Oakland, Cal. After the an nouncement of the figures unanimity was easily and quickly secured by a ris ing vote. Much good feeling was aroused as the result of the decision.

In the suit of Thomas Hale against Albert Little to forclose a Barrett law lien, Judge McMasters has decided that the mortgage held by the State as se curity of a loan of $5,000 from the school fund, can not be bound by tho improve ment lien. The loan was made on the property prior to the insurance of the Barret lien, and for this reason the State was made co-defendant, the do cision being passed on a demurrer by the State.
