The Kearshaw was blown 011 a reef while making this harbor and the two other boats were left high and dry 011 the sand beach at the mouth of the Choclay river across thi' bay. The life saving crew had a terrible experience in saving those 011 board the wrecked boat, three of them being cast in tile sea themselves by the upsetting of tiie lifeboat, and had a battle for their lives that threatened to end disastrously. DARING HOLD-UP.
Three rasscii^tTD in Cahoom* "Badly I)nn9 t'p by Six Tramps. 1' Alien, N. 1)., Sept. 30.—Particulars of daring hold-up were brought hero by Conductor Bolton, who arrived from tho west with a mixed train 011 tho Northern Pacific road. On tho train were Frank Riuhards, John Freeson and Charles Jemark, the victims of the hold-up. All of them were severely injured, and were turned over to I)r. Young for treatment. Tliu work was done by six tramps at the lit' tie station of Buffalo, twenty miles from here, and in the darkness they made their escape. Three of the trumps hoarded tho train at Jamestown, while the three others did not make their appearance until the train was nearing Buffalo. While the train was going down a grade there they entered the caboose, where tho passengers wcru, and assisted by their three confederates, made an attack upon Jemark, Richards atul Frejsou with revolvers and knives.
As none of the trainmen were in the caboose the tramps had things all their own way. They ordered the passengers ti hand over their money at once. Kiclmrds reisted. and was roturhly handled by the robbers, who, after beating him over the head and face, threw him from the train. Jemark and Freeson gave up what they had without a light, and were then invited to jump off As they hesitated about jumping the trnmps forced them out on the platform and then pounded them with heir guns until they jumped. The conductor learned of the trouble just us tiie train got into Buffalo. Hefore the train stopped the robbers jumped off. and are still at large. Richards was found With his collarbone br ken. and Freeson and Jemark with their faces badly 0111. and suffering internal injuries. The robbers secured from the three men $10 in mouey find a jot) money order.

Arrested for Stealing Clonk. PKOKIA, Ills., Sept. 30.—Mrs. Alvilda Jensen, one of the prominent music, teachers of the city, was arrested charged with stealing a $^50 sealskin cloak from tho dry goods house of Clarke & Co. After spending the night iu jail she was released 011 bail pending her hearing. She says she does not know why she took the garment. She could not resist the temptation, however, though she did not need a cloak.
