Milt Burtc left on Tuesday night to join the Ben Hur Tableau company at Peoria. The company will make a tour of Kansas, Iowa and other Western states.
William Morgan is slowly recovering from his severe attack of typhoid fever, but is very weak and several days must elapse before he will be able to leave his bed.
Rev. Jackman is reported to have said that Mayor Bandel was drunk lately. The mayor proposes to give him an opportunity to prove it, retract or stand the consequences.
Conductor Jennings, of the Monon, was bitten in the hand a few days ago by a negro seeking to steal a ride, who he put off the car, and has been disabled for duty since.
The claim of Henry Arnold against the estate of Daniel Arnold, deceased, was tried in the circuit court yesterday. The jury found for the plantitf and gave him a judgment for §204.75.
Judge Hargrave, who has opened an office o*. er Gilbert's clothing store, was admitted to practice at this bar on W ednesday. He was formerly a judge in the Vanderburg county circuit court.
Mr. A. F. Reed of the city water works was a witness this week in the Federal court before whom the Coffins are being tried for the wrecking of the Indianapolis National JBank of which Hauahey wrs president!'

After near six months the stone work of the east Wabash avenue bridge has been completed. The iron will be placed upon it within a few days, when it will be ready for the passage of vehicles. The entire cost of this bridge is over §9,000, about twice as much as there was any need o? expending for it. It is the work of the present city council, it must be remembered, with whom it would eeem money is no object. -,~j
