The hog cholera has made its appearauce here and some farmers have lost a good number of hogs, while others have escaped entirely.

Ilenry Shelby has returned from Europe, landing at this place last luesday evening well eatislied with his trip across the "pond."

It began raining here on Tuesday -'evening about dark and continued to •pour down all night. The rain was accompanied by loud thundering and severe lightning.

Daniel Monford. Frauk Dunkle. Miss Clara Shope and Mrs. Aaron Layton accompanied Ed Layton to Covington last Wednesday, where he was married to Miss Myra Stevenson, of *hat place.

The temperance people a few days ago had an opportunity to say no license, and a majority of the legal voters said no saloon. But fun is ahead on the part of some lovers of the vile stuff, if they did scheme to defeat the temperance folk9.

Mr. Taylor, our grain merchant, says it will take four months to ship the growing crop of corn out of the country.

We have a man at this place who says he can cure cholera, but we failed to learn

An official of one of tl.e defrauded insurance companies who is here working jn the case, it is said on good authority, makes the statement thnt the much-talked 3f prisoner is not the doctor. The name of the doubting official is not made public. Judge J. II. Sandusky, attorney for Judge J. E. Lincoln, executor of the Fraker estate, states that they had not admitted yet that the prisoner is Fraker. All Judge Sandusky will say, however.
