Following the combine of gas companies at Terre Haute the price has been advanced from 50. cents to.. 81, per 1,000 feet.
The attendance at Music Hall to witness the play. "Sowing the Wind." was quite large and the audience well pleased.

The ladies of the Christian church will serve meals in the east dining hall at the fair grounds next week. A good dinner for 25 cents.
James Devan offers 6100 reward for the arrest and conviction of the persons who knocked him down and took his money, some weeks ago.
Street Commissioner Larsh estimates the damage to the city by Tuesday night's rain, at 610,000. Many think his figures entirely too high.
A son of Commissioner Harding had his arm dislocated OD Monday. He was engaged at work at home at the time. The arm was set by Dr. Keegan.
Most of the old soldiers going to the encampuien,t at Louisville, leave next Tuesday afternoon. They go by Big 4 and Monon, the majority of them by the former route.

Richard Benson, a resident of Craw fordeville for many years, died at his residence on south Elm street, on Tuesday morning. His age was 57 yenrs. The funeral took place on Friday a.ternoon.
The temperance people of Waynetown, have finally triumphed over Herron, who sought to obtaio license to retail liquor. The remonstrance was too u.'ich for him and he finally withdrew hi.s ,ipphcation.
The water works plant was much injured by the great rainfall of Tuesday night. The damage has leen estimated by some at 62.000. and several weeks will be required to place ev rything in satis factory running order.
Wm. Birch, the machinist, has the timbers for frame work for a new shop already .jut. and will erect the building soon. It will be located somewhere, probably on Spring on Water streets, the location net yet being decided.
There was such an overwhelming protest in the first ward of the city of Frankfort against the further sale of intoxicants in that district that the two saloon keepers abandoned their application for re-license and will go into other business.
Elder Lane, who was here on Monday to perform the marriage ceremony for Clias. Kern and Flora Work,.has entered upon the sixth year of his charge of the Christian church at Lebanon, during which time there have been nearly -100 accessions to the church.
The ricle Tom's Cabin company drew a paying house at Music Hall on Monday. In spite of the number of times it has been played here and elsewhere, it is still a drawing attraction, and will doubtless continue to bo. As old aud antiquated as the play seems to be people prefer it to scores of better ones.
The people of Burlington who assisted in tearing down the saloon building in which the village saloon was located, are likely to bo inconvenienced by their exploit. Officer Welty, of Kokomo, is said to have been an eye-witnesB, and to have secured the names of eighteen of the participants and many witnesses, and prosecutions will follow. Mr. Taylor who attempted to open the saloon,is Baid to have been driven out of Flora by remonstrance.
