LIVINGSTON MANOR. July 9.— Joshua Townsend, 05 years old, was murdered by his son-in-law. George Brotthauer. Townsend found his son-in-law engaged in mowing the grass on his property and ordered him out of the field. Failing to drivo him away, Townsend cut a stick and threatened to whip him. Bretthauer suddenly drew a pistcd, and placing it against tho old man's forehead, fired. The bullet entered at the left eyo and Townsend fell dead. Bretthauer thon came to tho village and gave himself up. He is 1111 ex-United States marine.
