Which Notified the l'ollce and Two Oilier Hanlc 11ml tliu Thieves Are Arrested— One of Them triivu the Scheme Away. COLORADO !~1'I:INUS, Colo., Juno :I0. —A bold, but unsuccessful, attempt to loot tho Exchange National bank of this city was made shortly nftor noon by four inci, who cboso that hour for tho reason that the majority of the bank employes woro absent for luncheon. Assistant Cashier Edward Herron was standing at tho cashier's window looking out upon tho street, when Fred Georgo dashud insido the .door and levoled a revolver at Herron's head, at thu sumo timo admonishing him to remain quiet. Immediately following Georgo came Edward Hutch, who was also armed, und attempted to get behind the counter where the currency, gold and silver was piled, up in tempting heaps. llerron made no nttempt to muvu from his position, but, without attracting any attention, pressed a button directly in front of him, which sent an alarm to two other banks on opposite corners, und nlso notified polico headquarters, a half block away, that there was trouble at tho bank and assistance was needed in a hurry.
Conveyance in Iieailinoss.
At the same timo Sheriff Bowers, Cashier Daniel Herron, Bookkeeper Mack, and deputy sheriff, all heavily armed, appeared from different portions of tho bank and surrounded the two robbers. Moantime, ollieials from the othor banks and ollicers from the police station oame hurriedly to the scene, and tho thievos, seeing they had fallen into a trap, turned over their weapons and submitted to arrest without a struggle. Ollicers hastened around the corner, whero Mike Kennedy, an other member of tho gang, was in readiness with a conveyance to carry the robbors and their plunder to tho mountains, in tho oarrlage was Robert O. McFarland, who was to act as guide, and he and Kennedy were soon disarmed and hurried to the police station, whoro the other two had been taken. All the members of tho gang are residents of Colorado .Springs, and, while not classed aa professional thieves, bear and unsavory reputation and hae been under polico surveillance for several months.
Leader cl the Gnng.
Frod George is the leader and he suggested the raid upon tho bank. The others readily joined tho plot, and all the plans had been laid to make the raid last Monday. The noon hour was chosen for the reason that the bank and tho streets wore comparatively deserted at that hour. It wus the intention to shoot the cashier or any other person who offered any resistance. For some reason the raid was not made on Monday, and meanwhile Hutch bocamo alarmed and gavo tho plot away to one of tho bank officials. Tho sheriff and police were called in, and it was decided to permit the attempt to bo made according to progranimo as laid out by tho robbers, but enough armed men were stationed In the bank and in adjoining houses to mako the capture of the gang certain.
Bitter Faellug lietween Mlnurg. Rico, Col., June M.—Bad blood has prevailed for some time between the miners of the liico, Aspeu, and Enterprise, throe adjoining properties in the Sau Juan country. The forces met by breaking away a wall that separated the claims of the rivals. A duel ensued, tho weap ons being giant powder cartridges. Two men were seriously wounded, one of them having his shoulder torn off, and the other is 6aid to be suffering from blindness caused by the eiploslon of a missile at close quarters. Noise of the conflict reached the surface, where tho superintendents hastily armed guards and by a display of rltles compelled tho cessation of hostilities.

A Good Appetite
Always accompanies good health, and an absence of appetite is an indication of something wrontf. The loss of a rational desire for food is soon followed by lack of strength, lor when tho 6upplyof fuel is cut oil the (ire burns low. The system gets into a low state, and is liable to severe attacks of disease. Tho universal testimony given by those who have used llood's Sarsaparilla, as to its great merits in restoring and sharpening tho appetite, in promoting healthy action of the digestive organs, and is a purifier of the blood, constitutes the strongest recommendation that can be urged for an medicine. Those who ha\e never used
