Monday a stranger called at Jos. ISinford's Lumber yard for change for tifty cents. A few minutes after another stranger called and said lie wished to buy some lumber. Mr. llinford wont with him to show the lumber leaving tile oilice vacant. The stranger finally departed without buying anything and when Mr. Binford returned to the oilice he discovered that the safe which was left open had been robbed of about £lo.00 which it held. The marshall was at once notified but as no particular notice oT the man had been taken he could not be described consequently escaped with his pa! who took the money. It is the old conhdence game worked over aga'n.

Disfranchised for Three Years
and Given Six Months in Jail.
The trial of John Dinkenhoker, of Ladoga, for trespass, assault and potty larceny took place Mondav in the Circuit Court. Linkenhoker was accused of stealing some lumber, and a great many witnesses appeared against hiui. The jury returned a verdict finding him guilty as charged and sentencing him to six months in jail with a tine of $50, and disfranchisement for three years, llarney, Wright & Sellers appeared for tho defendant, and Prosecutor Kennedy and A. B. Anderson for the Stale.

of Errors.
'J un Base Ball game between V/abash and Depauw developed into a comedy of errors and Wabash beat the poor old Methodists till they hardly knew who tiles were. For four innings the game was .t pretty one and neither side had much advantage. In the fifth inning WaSash found Depauw'a pitchor and before the dust had cleared eleven runs wei made. This was repeated the next inning and from then to the end of the game V\ abash scored as she pleased. Good Square Meal.
Sunday afternoon while driving to town from his home near Xew Richmond. W illiam (iilliland, a farmer, was accosted bv a stranger near the Iron Bridge vvhoasked to ride. The farmer took hi:n on the cart and brought him to town. When they arrived in town the stranger asked him to take him a lit tie farther ami he complied, driving with him out of town on the Danville road. When some distance out the man struck (iilliland a blow in the face and tht ensued a lively light for mastery. The stranger, however, was too strong for hiin and succeeded in robbing him of what money ho had, amounting to about four dollars.
