There promises to be a great big muddle here regarding the possessions of the .Monon railroad. The railroad company holds deeds to land on which are located part of the artificial gas plant. Williams' lumbor yard, the electric light wortcs, and Crabbs & Reynolds' elevator. Part of the land is also used as a street. It will take a "powful" lot of work to clear up the tanglo.

The brewers will be hit harder by the new law than the saloons, as they are more or less financially interested in hundreds of retail establishments. 'l'he Indianapolis saloon keepers havo been instructed by the brewers to make no preparations or changes in their business for the purpose of conforming with the law. as there will they say. be a united and determined light against it iu the courts. The liquor league is contident that the law is not constitutional.
The county commissioners in some counties say that whether the law is in foice or not when the license is granted, the seller must conform with the law as soon as the law goes into effect.

Preparations are being made for the usual observance of Decoration Day here. As to the fourth of July it is doubtful if we ever will celebrate it. Covington advertises a grand blow out for that day as does Lafayette. The Soldiers Home being located at Lafayette the celebration will undoubtedly be a bi^ or.e.
