The Journal jumped right squareon our collar in their daily, of last Saturday, for an advance notice regardine a reception tendered by the Lotus club wives to its members. We were conscientious in that report, haviDg noticed unusual demonstrations in their club rooms on the night mentioned, and knowing that they were to entertain, we, as it now appears, jumped at the conclusion that the '22nd was the night. In the same column the Journal made an erroneous copy when they reported the party of Miss Cora Thompson as occurring "last evening'' for it occurred evening before last, the '21st. Horse for horse, brother.
A New Daily.
A new daily newspaper, it is I said, is to be launched on the uncertain sea of journalism in Crawfordsville.
There are only ten newspapers pubI lished in Montgomery county at this time, and this is not enough. Most of
the proprietors of these publications revoi in wealth, own bank stock and bonds in vast quantities, and it is nothing but fair that others should share in these riches, consequently now publications should be expected soon. Tho proprietors of the new daily, Boyland it I'jltx.roth, will establish an oflice in tho Joel block.
Now Industry. The fact that anew daily newspaper has announced itself, has caused quite a sensation among t.'rawfordsville poople. there being already four papers in the tield. Tho new one will be in operation wilnin a week or more and will be known as tho Morning Herald. lid S.Boyl:md ami Will ll.Kit'/ oth are tho proprietors of the scheme. Hand bills have been scattered about town notifying the people to watch for it, They promise a new .ii-parture in the way of a daily paper.

Another Nov Buniuess Firm. Is that of Sandorsifc Beckner.who have opened an implement and buggy house on South Washington street, The firm needs no individual introduction as the proprietors are well known and will build up a good trade. Thos. Shephard will serve in the capacity of head clork.
A l-'iur 1'laj. Was "Shore Acres'' at, tho Music Hall on Monday night, and the Hall was well filled. It was a sample of tho sort of entertainments appreciated by Crawfordsville audiences and ono worthy and sure of their support.
