TAYLOR'S WHEREABOUTS.
The Defaulting Treasurer of South Dakota is supposed to be Located 'Squire Overton Tkinks He Can

Everyone will remember the account the defalcation of South Dakota's Treasurer. \V. VV. Taylor, formerly of I Lalayettc, and which appeared in the pa purs over the country three weeks ago. Taylor has a father residing near
CRAW FORDS VILLE, INDIANA, SATURDAY, JANUARY 2i 1895,
Lafayette, and also some relatives near Alamo, and naturally he was suspected of having conn: this way with the cold cash amounting to more than .00.000.
In fact his description including his picture was forwarded the police together with a reward S-.00O for his capture. 'Squire I.(J. Overton. Justice of the Peace. now conies forth with the sensational declaration that he can locate the man desired, and further states that he is confined to bed with a serious illness Nothing more definite could be learned through him as he was very eager in pursuit of the .$2,000 reward. Overton claim? that his information regarding the absconder's whereabouts was obtained through a combination of cir cnmstances lies' known to him more than that it was throng the gravest accident. He was approached by news paper men. but was "dead to tInworld" on th" information so i^jif for

Investigations Prove the Assertions Made by A Crawfordsville Business Man A Word in His Behalf.
Listen a moment: "Here is somethine that I want yon all to hear. O.uher your chairs up and pay close attention whi.e 1 reait you this article in THK RI VIKW and by that time supper wili be ready. In Crawfordsville, our county seat there resides a man, who owns his home and an active profitable business as well. Now there is nothing strange about that for there are many such men in that city who are in the same conditions, yet there is something about this particular man that enlists public notice. For a number of years he has carried on a boot and shoe business in Crawfordsville and has enjoyed a tirst class trade. During this time his health has heyan to fail and he i8 compelled to dispose of his immense stock in order to recuperate. Ho lately began to advertise a cost sale of all his

been advertised but very little confidence svas placed in it by persons other than his regular customers. However all suspicions are now knocked into a cockrd hat as an investigation has revealed. The sale svas found to be strictly as advertised and not a man, svoman or child can help but discover tho same by merely pricing his goods. The man in question is J. S. Kelly, the Mam -treet boot and shoe man and as an evidei.ee of the publics appreciation of such sale as the one ho is nosv holding, his store is crowded svith great If and "umbers of customers daily. Children we II all go down tomorrow and buy splinter new fool svare of Mr. Kelly.:

A i.ew scheme originated by residents of the "Star city" is as follows and may bo introduced here: "Trinity church has adopted a new plan to increaso the size of its already great congregations, and next Sunday this plan will be put ou trial. Pastor King announced yesterday morning that there were many mothers svho would like to come to church once in a while, but cannot cause they have infaut children to take care of and because they cannot, as sensible women, take tho little screechproviders to church. Now Trinity has thought of a way to obviate this unfortunate condition to a certain extent, and has appointed three ladies, Mrs. Simler,
Mrs. Keiper and Mrs. King, to take care of all babies brought to the chape' of tho church next Sunday. These ladies svill have charge of the little ones for an hour, during which time tho mothers may sit out in front and enjoy the sermon, the music and other people's clothes. In the Sunday school room the committee svill play tag and sing lullabies for the infants, preventing in every svay possible the first approach of rivalry to tho singing in the front part of the church. This iB an admirable idea, and will prove a great blessing to the infant troubled mothers who want to go to church." What a superb thought. That would be, too good for any UEe. The world is advancing every day.

Hie case of Jake Freel against the trustees of tin public schools svas tried this week before Judge Raub and was brought to a terminus on Wednesday before the jury could take the matter in hand.
