How Politicians: Adyertise.

Politician* are tho be.t advertised men in the world. Wherever von 1^0, in whatever land you may travel, politician-, are the best known men in that country, loll of a man who is better advertised in this countrv than. •Mcivinley. 1 ell us if est. Reed, Mill. Harrison. Cleveland. Mrs. Lease and Cicorge Oswald are not about as well advertised as anv people you know- of. Mow do they do it? The majority of'em begin on babies. Politicians have been known to pick up a cardinal top. freckle-faced, pur nosed baby and kiss it. and go right to a corner drug stoi and drink strong liquor after it, just to get a YOU.

There are politicians who are honest, and some who are not exactly truthful—that is, if they'd cut down a cherry tree they would prove an alibi, or claim it was an "ax ident."' What class of politicians succeed? I he ones who have honest convictions, or honest principles, who believe in themselves, who think they are right and who stick to their principles. W are not in politics. We don't meddle with anything but business, and we are getting plenty of it to meddle with, but we do believe that the idea of the successful politician is right—stick to your principles. Our principal principle is to sell goods for less thrn anybody else does. Our second principle is to sell more of 'era. Our third principle is to sell good goods only. And don't we do it? We are stlling extra heavy Canton Flannel for S' per yard. Look at it you nm see it's the same kind other merchants ask you ioc for. It's the same with bleached and brown muslins, calicos, ginghams. cotton itting, wool flannels, blankets, linens, wool dress goods, cloaks, furs, or anything in our line. We are'headquarters for Dry Goods and can save you money on your smallest purchase trial is all we ask and it we are .-.tic king to our prim iples won't it be to vour interest a well as ours?

An 18 Year Old Boy Accidentally Discharges a Load of Shot in His Arm, and Rides Six Mile3 for a

Doctor. Eurly Tuesday mcmim: while limiting along tho creek northeast of Darlington, Robert Vannico met with a serion accident which will probably cause him tho loss of an arm. lie was climbing along the banks with his shotgun in readiness for game when in some manner his foot slipped and he slid down the side of tho bank, catching his nun on something, when it a, discharged and the entire load went through hi.-- arm, shattering the bones in a most b' iriblo manner. The young man picked himself up and hastened home, wheio he saddled his horse with the other arm and started for Darlington, a distance of six miles, to have the wound attended to. The trip wiih made quickly and safely, and Drs. Dunnineton and Berryman dressed the injured member, which can hardly lie saved owinr to the extreme manner in which it shattered. The young man displayed the greatest nerve throughout and is a remarkably brave lad. (is home is at Kingsley's Chapel

This week a young married man rented a gun of one of our merchants and taking it home he succeeded in some manner, which v.e failed to learnto empty a shot into his wife's leg. She was not seriously injured, however, and was able to comedown in town and start a rough time- with fbe nur. who rented the gun to her husband. The atTair was linallv settled to the satisfaction of both parties and she went her way not much the worse over the outcome. Everything is again lovely and no one knows a word about it.

The laboring Man Speaks.

MUNOX, IND.. May 10, 1S94. I

Lyon Medicine Co., Indianapolis, Ind.: GKNTS —I think it my duty to semi this statement to you of the benefit I have received from LYON'S SEVEN WOXDERS. I have been afflicted for twenty years with stomach trouble of the severest nature. Would have seasons of the severest suffering from one to two months at a time. Hetween these times of suffering was never longer than three months. There was never any time that I was entirely free from misery more or less. These spells of great suffering would sometimes come on with sickness and vomiting, and other times would come on in form of rheumatism, but would finally center itself in my stomach. I have doctored with a great many physicians, but none of them could tell me what the trouble was. I was unable to get relief until I got LYONS SEVEN WONDERS. It is now sixty days since I began taking this medicine, and am now for the first time in twenty years free from pain and misery. I am compelled to say it is a blessing to a poor man. •, J.J.
