The Sunday school convention at Liberty chapel last Thursday was a great success, in point of numbers, but not a minister on the program was present. It is to be regreted that the ministry takes no interest in such an important work for building up the cause of the Master, when we knowthat 100,000 children in our own state, never attend Sunday school.
The sanctity of the Sabbath was disturbed last Sunday by a baud of roving gypsies or tramps, with a couple of bears and monkeys that camped near the creek, They were traveling north and would make the bears dance and perforin all sorts of antics much to the delight of a crowd of boys and children that followed them and much to the disgust of (jod-fearing citizens.

There are three male and three female evangelists. Tho converts, in telling what the Lord has done for them, are seized with an uncontrollable tremor of tho arms,during which they finally lose the power of speech and fall helpless and rigid upon the tloor. Their methods are similar to those of Mrs. Woodward, the trance revivalist, and their converts are of the same class.
Hand .Wannlcd. Wednesday morning Herbie Xewkirk had a hand badly mangled by getting it caught in acorn husking machine at Wm. Wiseheart's. east of town. Dr. Leech was summoned and dressed the injured member'but fears that he may loose the use of his hand. Two lingers were torn loose from the knuckles and the injury was verj painful.
