Where Disease Is Bred.

When & sewer is closed or choked up the accumulations poison the atmosphere in its ieinity anil brin^ about the conditio.^ that breed disease. We all kno.v that in time of pestilence every piecaution is taken, not only to keep tliu sewers- free and open, but even to remove all decaying matter from the community. The danger of infection is thus minimized. How few of us who pay taxes for the maintenance of s.iniu.:v bureaus for the public health think of an equal requirement for otir individual welfare.

The alimentary canal is the great sewer of the human system. When that is dammed up condition* arc generated which invite fevets anil such diseases as our nature ineiines to. Constipation is a cl. egging of the natural drains, anil nearly everything we suffer from follows this condition. It will not do imieiv to e'ear the drains from time to time. We must repair and improve the working power of the machinery wlio-e function it is perform this work. SlIlitllN JliU' Beans differ from pills in thai tlu-y are more than a mere cathartic They not only stimulate sluggish bowels and clear the system of all disease-breeding matter, but they remedy the evil complained of they restore power and freedom of operation to the secreting organs, and they tone up and strengthen the entire system. Ihe largest funeral that has occured in Crawfordsville for some time was that of Dr. F. T. Montague on Sunday afternoon. Tho remains arrived on the afternoon train from Chicago. He died at his home in Des Moitiet, lo\v», on last 1' riday morning after a steady do eline of consumption. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge, of Des Moines, and in giving instructions a« to his funeral requested that his remains be brought to Crawfordsville for interment and that Do Bayard lodge have charge of the burial service. He further requested the banu as an escort.

'r. Montague and wife were members of the Presbyterian church, of Des Moines, and it was his iletire that Rev

Peculiar to Itself.

Hood's Sarsapariila is peculiar to itself, in a strictly medicinal sense, in three important particulars, viz: first, ia the combination of remedial agents used second, in the proportion in which they are mixed, third, in' the process by which the active curativ properties of the preparation are secured. These three important points make Hood's Sarsapariila peculiar in its medicinal merit, as it accomplishes mires hitherto unknown.

But it is not what we say but what Mood's Sarsapariila does that tells the story. What Hood's Sarsapariila has done for others is reason for con(idence that it is the madieini

Of Hood's Sarsapariila is that while it purities the blood and sends it coursing through the veins full of richness and health, it also imparts new life and vigoi to every function of the body. Hence the expression so often heard: "Hood's Sarsapariila made a new person of me." It overcomes that tired feeling so common now.
