To Preserve

The riohness, color, and beauty of the hair, the greatest care is necessary, much harm being done by the use of 'worthless dressings. To be sure of having a first-class article, ask your druggist or perfumer for Ayar's Hair Vigor. It is Absolutely superior to any other preparation of the kind. It restores the original color and fullness to hair which has become thin, faded, or gray. It keeps the scalp cool, moist, and free from dandruff. It heals itching humors, prevents baldness, and imparts to

THE HAIR

a silken texture and lasting fragrance. No toilet can be considered complete without this most popular and elegant of all hair-dressings. "My hair began turning gray and falling out when I was about 25 years of ago. I have lately been using Ayer's Hair Vigor, and it is causing a new growth of hair of the natural color."— R. J. Lowry, Jones Prairie, Texas. "Over.a year ago I lisul a severe fever, and when I recovered, my hair began to fall out, and what little remained turned gray. I tried various remedies, but without success, till at last I began to

USE

Ayer's Hair Vigor, and now my hair is growing rapidly and is restored to its original color." Mrs. Annio Collins, Dighton, Mass. "I have used Ayer's Hair Vigor for' nearly five years, and my hair is moist, glossy, and in an excellent state of preservation. I am forty years old, and have ridden the plains for twenty-five years."—Wm. Henry Ott, alias "Mustang Bill," Newcastle, Wyo.

Letter i'lom Utah, OODEIC, UTAH, A ug. 15, 1893.

ED. RBVIEW:— Having eleven boura to spend in Ogden. I thought I would let you and my friends know how I getting along-

I left Chicago at 10:40 p. m., Saturday. Having never been out of the state of Indiana and Ohio, I find many points of interest.

I took my place io a Tourists car and after a good night's rest. I awoke in the state of Iowa, which I found to be a nice country with good corn and oats crops. I reached Council Bluffs at 5:30 p. ra., Sunday, when they transferred our car to the Union Pacilic line. On crossing the Missouri river into Nebraska, I found but little change in the country. It was soon night-fall again, and I retired for another night's sleep.

On the following morning I found a great change. The country was very level and barren. There was not a tree of auy size to be seen. The scenery continued thus all day with the exception of becoming more broken and rough after wa entered Wyopain^. And,, although, this country loo'ftid like a desert there were now and the» signs of habitation, such as an occasional log cabi* or sod house and the land was nearly all fenced in for stock.

The monotony was broken and excitement raised abjut noon by tho sight of two antelope. It was had to hold trie in the car. I wantdd to get out and shoot. There' was also now and then a prairie dog town and not unfrequently did I Bee the ears of a Jackrabbit pick ap and away ho would go across the prairie.

We took dinner at Cheyenne, the capital of Wyoming, a city of about twelve thousand inhabitants. For about four hundred miles we were on a high plateau which was from six to Beven thousand feet above sea level.

About three o'clock in the afternoon we came in sight of the Black Hills, which, I was told, were seventy miles away. We could aUo see tho snow crested Rocky piountains, in Colorado, but on account of fog could not see Pilte's Peak.

On the third morning I awoke very cold. We were in the mountains in Utah, not far from Evanston. I wore my overcoat for several hours. I am not used to the fine mountain breeze which is BO cool in August. I reached Ogden at 10:30 a. m., when I WRSinformed I would have to wait until 'j-.30 p. m. Ogden is about ten miles from Great Salt Lake on the west. On the north and east are magnificent mountains which far surpassed my expectations. When asked how far it wa° to the nearest mountain. I said, "about a half mile," I got on a -itreet car and rode five miles toward them and the mountains were still in the distance. I cannot describe farther now. I will get to my destination Friday night. Tou may hear from me at some future time H. WALTER.

Last Friday night three young lads Tom and John Brown and Harry Graham, eluded the watchful eye of Matron Hiner, of the Orphans' Home, arid succeeded in making their escape. The expedition had been well planned for they were well provisioned and clothed for the hard, cruel winters in the Rocky mountains, their destination. Their object was to assist the government in wiping from the face of the earth the obnoxious and bloodthirsty Indians, and they no doubt jrould have succeeded had they only steered clear of the town of Alamo. Saturday night about nine o'clock, three as dirty, disgusted and tired out Indian hunters as ever followed a trail walked into the Fishero hotel at Alamo and begged for lodging. The landlady began plying them* with questions and in a short time they gave the whole snap away. The boys were made captive and kept there until Charley Gregg went down and brought them home Sunday morning.'

Sheriff Bible Retires.

On last Tuesday John P. Bible relinquished the office of Sheriff to his successor, Charles E. Davis. It is unnecessary for us to herald the praise so well merited by the retiring incumbent *for the reputation he has made for himself by the admirable and efficient discharge of the duties of office speaks for itself. He has been one of the most competent officials the county has ever had and THK REVIEW and hia hundreds of friends regret to see him retire. To his successor we doff our headgear and bid him welcome. Mr. Davis is an excellent, young man and will fill the office creditably. His office roster is as follows: E. H. Cox, office deputy C. R. Patton riding deputy W. T. Bayless. court bailiff Howard Dickerson, colored, turnkey.

We may be a rascal as Bill Vogt, the crane necked sneaking cur of Covington teriiBB us, and we are also a little too cute

for

this'lying dirty idiot, the villi-

fying, rotten foesil that he is, should only be recognised by respectable journalism as the slums and curses that sometimes by accident receive an unjust recognition. Vogt is a dried up, cadaverous ekunk, who imitates a ruler of slaves, and pretends to dictate to men, who are giants in comparison to this lonely, sore eyed monkey. Go on Vogt, dictate what they should do and what shall go into your apple butter blanket sheet, it is only increasing our circulation.—Veedersburg Nows.
