I tried a number of remedies, but none seemed to give me relief until I was induced to try the old reliable Ayer's Pills. I have taken only one box, but I feel like a new man. I think they are the most pleasant and easy to take of anything I ever used, being so finely

"Between the ages of five and fifteen, I was troubled with a kind of saltrheum, or eruption, chiefly confined to the logs, and especially to the bend of the knee above the calf. Here, running sores formed which would scab over, but would break immediately on moving tlio leg. My mother tried everything she could think of, but all was without avail. Although a child, I read in the papers about the beneficial effects of Ayer's ^ills, ami persuaded my mother to lot me try them. With no reat faith in the result, she procured

Glen Cop page, age 19, of Crawfordsville, was arrested here yesterday on the strength of a telegram from Marshal Brothers of the Hoosier Anthena. Coppage was wanted to answer the charge of burglariziug Ross Bros' jewelry and notion store, in Crawfordsnlle Friday night. He was found at Wise's Fifth street variety theatre, and was taken in custody by Officer John Beecher. His valice found at the Bramble house, contained jewelry, knives, razors, etc. He had also in his possession a kodak photographiug machine. Though only about the city three hours before arrest, the young man had put in pawn several articles, but all were recovered. He claimed thait a Chicago crook had done the robbing job and he (Coppage) was only accessory in sharing tho booty— but he must have received the lion's share, judging from the amouotof goods, he was carrying. Tom Rose, one of the proprietors of the store pillaged, arrived here yesterday afternoon and himself took charge of the prisoner, the pair, captor and captured, handcuffed together, leaving at 5.24 p. m., via the

Big Four, for Crawfordsville Coppage the son of a prominent Crawfordsville attorney, and it is difficult to »ay, owing to lack of acquaintance, whe her he is a good young man gone wrong or a bad young man found out—Lafavutte Times.

Young Coppage seems to have entered upon a wild career some tune since, and is at last headed off be.lore going farther, although bringing die-grace upon indulgent parents and himself. The goods found upon his persou have been identified by the firm from which they were taken, and Coppage seems to have an excellent chance of serving term in the penitentiary.

Badly Burned.

Last week Mrs. Barny Simison left her daughter, Miss Cora, a miss of 13 Bummers, in charge of two 3uiall child ren, while she went to Jacob Miller's, about three miles away on an errand. She told the girl to begin preparations for supper about half past five, as she would be back soon after that time Before leaving Mrs. Simison placed coal in the cook stove so that the Sre would not go .entirely out. It is not known how soon, but shortly after she left, Miss Cora got a small can in which coal oil was kept to kindle cob fires and poured the contents over the smouldering coal and stood leaning over the stove watch ing it when all at onct thure was frightful explosion, the full force strik ing the girl squarely in tho face, burn ing her eyebrows and eyelashes com pletely off, setting her hair and ^bonnet on fire and burning the whole face in horrible manner, even her tongue and the roof of her mouth were burned

The force of the explosion blew out the caps in the chimney in different rooms and blew soot into every room about the house. The fire was blazing out of every crevice in the stove, and although burned in a shocking manner tho heroic girl got \vater and' dashed on the fire, least the house would burn down. Her father was in the Held close by, but the girl did uot call for help or oven send her' little'four-year-old sister to warn her father of her condition, but set about cleaning up the house. Mr. Siminson finally came to tho house and was horrified to find his child in so shocking condition. All the assistance possible was rendored but the child will carry bad scares all her life.—New Richmond

Another Attempt At Suicide.

There is no question but that the suicido mania has a firm grip on Cravvfordeville. There has scarcely been a week in. the-past six or ei^ht months but that wo have chronicled an attempt to swim the dafk river on tho part of some love sick ,lad or lass. The last victim to tackle tlie m6rphino route was

Mrs. Roland Kyle nee Annie O'Neil. Mr. Kyle and Miss O'Neil were married a few weeks ago. the event bein. the swellest of the season in ble. The pair at once went keeping in,tho third story of I!. postoflico building and all went IK until Tuesday of last week when A^tia and Roland had a misunderstand^ which terminated in a merry light. After the ball was over Roland packed liie grip and told the festive Annie she could paddle her own canoe. The separation weighed heavily on Mrs. Kyle's mind and after making several ineffectual eilorts to win her husband back she determined to quit this vale of tears.

Consequently she went to the drug store of Smith & Myers Saturday afternoon where she purchased ten cents worth of morphine. Then going to her room sho swallowed the whole dose at one gulp, at the same time telling a couple of her female companions who were in the room what she had done. Dr. Gott was summoned and with the aid of his stomach pump brought the would-be suicide around all right. If some of these people would only make a success at the business it would be quite a relief-
