Burglars give this place a wide berth, they have two good reasons for so doing, 1st nothing to steal, 2nd people watch them too close.

After the greens crop fails, we shall be compelled to use some other crop of ce rial here us the average Kirkpatrickite does every spring.

The day of retribution is coming. This was said by a man with a good sized drop of blood in his eye. But he says that he will even up, with this par ty.

Jake Kogner told us all to bet on his horse, we now wish we had, for he came out about two rods ahead in the race. We'll put up our stuff on him next time, Jake.

We see Bill Gulliver came out in the last issue of the REVIEW, giving an account of the graduating exercises at Balhinch. We would like to see him come out every week.

Dave has got the stuff and

proposes to enjoy it. If some of the grave yards in this vicinity were looked after it would do no hurt. How does it look to see soldiers graves decorated with flags and weeds. Some of the graves are out of sight, on account of the weeds.

The New Richmond paper that iB of late birth, is not quiet so interesting as the former paper printed by the Rev. Ira Stout, but it was too pure for that plaoe and not pure enough for heaven, so it went to Bristle Ridge.

Several of our people teok in the horse show at New Richmond, Saturday or rather the show took them in, if reports are true.

BoBwell

Clough, the sa

loon man, we are informed tapped an eight gallon keg every 15 minutes. Some young men went through this place on Sunday on their wheels and in front«of them they had bunches of flowers something near the size of a large pumpkin. They

would think them sweet. But if they had taken off their shoes. Oh my! The brother who gets up in the ohurch at this place, rolls up his eyes like unto a dying calf and then commence to tell that the man who sells whisky is a bad man. He had better taiie a drop, because everyone knows he gets drunk when he goes out of town.

Charley McBee, of Linden, called at our place this week. Chas. reports no post office appointment. Chas don't know that the republican and ring democrats are running the post office business and with the help of a congress man who the democrats elected in good a it an

To Brookshire we will say you was elected to the office you now hold, and by the democrats was you put where you are to-day. Now what have you done for us? You by yonr recom mendation have give us a republican post master at Kirkpatrick. Do you think you have pleased the republican party, py the way have done? If you so believe, let me inform you that you are mistaken, as there ss not a republican in this vicinity that would cast a vote for you.

Don't You Believe It.

The Washington Correspondent to the Indianapolis New3 has had another Convulsion. In his Monday's special he quotes Mr. Brookshire as saying that neither Hulett nor Jump would be appointed to the office of Revenue Collector. The report is absurd for should this be the Congressman's opinion he is too wise and discreetto so express at so critical a stage. Mr. Hullett's chances, for the appointment were never brighter nor his friends, including Mr. Brookshire, more sanguine. Below is the News man's version: "Gustave A. Conzman, of Terre Haute, crept quietly into town one day last week and filed an application for collector of internal revenue in the Seventh district. Mr. Conzman is county treasurer of Vigo county. He has very strong influence with the Germans, and if the friends of Jump find it impossible on account of the opposition of Congressman Brookshire and others to secure the appointment of the slate candidate they may take up Conzman as a compromise. Mr. Brookshire expressed the opinion a day or
