KILLED BY A BRIDGE.

Frank Booze Meets An Awful Death At the Big Four Bridge Over the Wabash Kiver.

Frank Booze met a violent death at the Wabash river bridge near Covington last Saturday morning. Such was the terrible news telegraphed to his young wife. The news spread rapidly and was received with tho grenteBt sorrow by everyone. Mr. Booze went to Codington Friday night to join the Big Four bridge gang, of which he has been a member for eleven years. Saturday morniug the crew boarded a freight train and started to their work just west of the town. Frank Booze and his brother, Levi, were seated on the lookout of the derrick car, but a few minutes before they reached the bridge Levi went below. Evidently Frank had forgotten about the bridge, for he was seated with his back toward it and appeared in deep thought. In another moment hie head struck the heavy timbers with such fearful force that he waB thrown down into the car. The remainder of the crew were standing where he fell and he was caught in his brother's arms. His skull was badly fractured by the blow and he never spoke, dying in a few minutes. The remains were taken back to Covington and the Coroner's inquest held, after which his body was shipped to his home in this city. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rav. Tucker officiating. Interment at Oak Hill.

The deceased was born in Pennsylvania 37 ysars ago. He came to this city in 1882 and has since bad charge of the painting force on the Big Four. Five years ago he was married to Miss Anna Burbridge, and a beautiful little daughter was the fruit of their union. He was a man of many noble traits and held in the highest esteem by all who knew him.
