Burglars At Darlineton.
"Hells broke Ioobo in Georgia," hardly spells it. Six of our business houses were broken into Tuesday night, and all from back windows. W. C. Raper'B grocery store was raided but nothing missed. Curt Thompson's store was entered through a back window, a pair of scales thrown out doors, tho money drawers pried open, the pennies counted and repudiated. F. W. Campbell's grocery store next received attention but nothing was missed. About this time they'got dry and visited the saloon. They pried the shutter off of one of the back windows hoisted the sash and crawled in. A bottle of whiskey and a few cigars were appropriated. They then cro66ed the street and wont up the alley to a side window in Cox & Lewis' dry goods and clothing house, pried the window out entered and investigated the money drawer but Mr. Lewis had forestalled them by taking all the gold, silver.'and paper goods out. Nothing iniBsing. Ike liarrick next received attention. They entered the hallway in the rear of the store and pried the back door off counted the pennies in the drawer, played "crack a loo" and then withdrawed without even smelling a rusty piece of bacon that laid just at hand. The livery stable was not broken into. Some black smith shops lost a coal chisel. Home talent is strongly suBpicioned.—Darlington Echo.
A Woman of Divorces.
Probably Indiana's champion divorcee resides near Colfax, in our adjoining county of Clinton. Some years ago Miss Columbia Ann Cosby was married to a man by the name of McGee. For a brief time their matrimonial rea remained unruffled, but the storm came, and they were divorced. Single blessedness, however, had lost its charms for Mrs. McGee, and so she married Dr. H. J. Coon, but again her lot seemed not to her liking, and another divorce came into use. After another brief trial of life alone she took unto herself a third husband in the person of William Shull. It was the same story, however, and the divorce laws gave her relief for the third time, but whether it is the last time remains to be seen. On Sunday evening, the 16th inst., she for the fourth time became a wife, marrying S. D. Mitchell, a young man and the son of a very wealthy farmer near Colfax. All three of the divorced husbands are yet livine, so that she enjoys the unusual distinction of having four living husbands.
Mr. Cunningham'8 Smile.
The. Washington Correspondent to Saturday's Indianpolie News says "there is some anxiety exhibited among Indiana Democrats as to the secret which C. W. Cunningham, of Crawfordsville, is carrying about locked in his bosom, Evidently Mr. Cunningham haB a "pull" or thinks he has. Ho has been a candidate for counsul.to Belfast ever since President Cleveland was inaugurated, and has been in Washington most of the time. He wears a broad Killarny smile and doesn't draw largely on Indiana congressional influence. He visits Secretary Grnsham frequently, and is always optimistic regarding his chances.
