DR. E. HUN TSINGER

A CAHD.

It is now about six years since Dr. E. Hunteinger of Frankfort, Ind., began making regular vieitB to Crawfordsville, Juring which time he has treated hundreds of cases and performed scores of surgical operations for cataracts, cross •yes, closure of the tear ducts, etc., with a success that commends him to the oonfidonce of this entire community. SPECTACLES: Special attention to fitting spectacles and eye glasses for which purpose the doctor has one of the «aost elaborate and complete set of perfecting testing appliances in the west. BYE STRAIN: Which requires glasses to be correct is one of the most [common clauses of weak painful vision and of koadache. It produces more^headache of various kinds, especially sick and nervous headache than all other causes combined. It is also a very common cause of weak, watery, sensitive, painful, smarting, heaviness and aching in, over back or around the eyes. When reading letters blue and run together.

These symptoms usually disappear when reading or close work is laid aside, but return again as often as either is re aumcd. These caBes call for the highest skill ia determining the kind and strength of glasses to proscribe.

A REMARKABLE RUQ.

Article

Only it filch Man Can Afford an I.Ike This. A mg ten by fifteen feot, made up of the fur of thirteen wild animals, is in the possession of W. H. Waiienbar of Chicago. Mr. Waiienbar keeps his nig, which cost him $1,500, locked up in the vault of his office, and taxes it out only occasionally to exhibit it to particular friends.

The rug was made in Moscow, and it took one man two years to put the pieces together. Finished, tho rug has the appearance of a rich mosaic the deep yellow of the tiger woven into tha coal black of the South Sea •eal in diamond-shaped blocks. The c«nter is made up of three rings of a diameter of twenty inches, the patchlike diamond pieces radiating from a circular tuft of monkey skin and bordered by a rim of otter. The ground work of the entire picce is io monkey skin.

Outside the large center pieces are two rows of circles. The outside contains fourteen circles six inches in diameter, made of mink, Angora ana Otter. Tho inner rows contain sixteen circles of Russian sable and monkey skin. At either end and on the sides is a six-inch selvage of Russian silver fox hide, and twenty silver-gray fox tails adorn the ends. In the make-up pieces of the furs from the Hussian •able, Persian lamb, Angora goa^ China goat, mink, otter, South Sea seals, monkey, Thibet lamb, muskrat, weasel, leopard and the Russian ail* ver-gray fox are used.

THE DOOM OF GLACIER9.

fhey Come to an I£nd by Moving Faster Than They Flow. Gleeiers plunge into the sea in many cold countries and perish by drowning, their dismembered remains floating away as bergs. But their end is dissolution where the average mean temperature rises considerably above the freezing point. At some certain level they meet faster than they can flow, *nd so terminate.

The level, indeed, is a fluctuating one. Icelandic glaciers, according to M. Forel, have undergone during the present century five alternate periods of diminution and growth.

Without one additional degree of cold it Is conceivable that a persistently augmented deposit of snow upon the Genstenhorner and the Schneestock, although otherwise scarcely perceptible, might enable the Rhone glacier to overwhelm the Brieg.

But this would be an exceedingly •mall step toward £he restoration of a former Btate of things, when an ice •tream close upon 250 miles in length, /arting from the same source, crossed the frozen or non-existent lake of Geneva, and debouched by Culoz upon Lyons. Without severe cold as well as heavy precipitation ice could not possibly have gained such an ascendancy. And this was no loical phenomenon it was simultaneously prevalent over widely separated tracts of the earth's surface.

SAVED HIS FINE.

Story of a Smith Who Was Both Quickwitted and Lucky. Judge Smith, now a resident of Phoenix, Ariz., was once a prosecuting lawyer in the little town of Quitman, Hiss. On one occasion he was defending a case before Judge Buck Hancock. During the trial Judge Smith had occasion to frequently go out of the court room. Judge Smith finally got tired of the delay in the case tuused by Smith's absence, and reprimanded him. Finally Smith came into the room with his hat on. The judge MW his opportunity and called out: "Mr. Smith, I fine you $50 for contempt of court" "Very well, your honor," was the reply, "I'll pay it to-morrow."

A Military Csnlss.

San Francisco possesses a dog that does regular military guard duty, lie is a Newfoundland and the pride of Battery K, Fifth artillery. This dog Is a marvel in its way. Every night at dusk, as soon as the sentries are about to patrol the premises around the official quarters and the barracks of the enlisted men, Ned, as the dog is called, after wagging his tail to the officer in charge of the patrol, starts on the grand rounds. If there happens to be any drunken men lying around or suspicious characters lurking about, Ned soon spots them, and although the dog will not bite, yet he will hold on to his captives uutil relieved by the appearance of a sentry.

(lilt Letters on Books.

Gilt letters on bindings are impressed by a hot tool or stamp. The tool bearing the letters should be first arranged in order on a rack before a clear fire, so as to be well-heated without becoming red hot The leather to be stamped is first dusted over with very finely powdered rosin or gum mastic, over which lay a leaf of gold. The well-heated stamp is now pressed down on the gold leaf, which will, of course, be indented and show ibe figure or letter impressed upon it.

TRUE, EVERY WORD.

A Realism Terrible Its Intensity.

A Story which is Without an Equal in The World.

They

The Exact faota Told Exaotly a3 Oocurred. Lebanon, N. H. As your correspondent I communicate the following remarkable story exactly aB it came from the lady's own lips. Everybody in Lebanon, N. H., knows Mrs. S. R. Berry well indeed she is a most highly respected resident here. The story is one which particularly interests everyone at thiB season.

I was in a very bad way such trembling in my arms and limbs, and my heart was just frightful, and those terrible sweeping chilis and trembling in my limbs made mo expect a shock or to lose the use of them completely. Ill could not sleep nights because my heart would palpitats and the chills or shaking would follow, and 1 could do but very little of anything.

I could not sit up all day, but had to lie down a great deal, and my nerves were very weak and of no use. Why, I could not bear any noise.

There was a terrible pain in my head, with burning both sides of the head, and I was almost a complete wrecK of my former self.

No one had any hopes of nay Deing better. My doctor ordered a change of everything, but I was not equal to moving anywhere, indeed could not walk any to speak of, only drag about from one room to another.

And such dull, heavy 'feeling^, as if 1 was about to meet some awful doom. All the time I was depressed in mind and spiritB and could not cheer up.

My liver waB swollen sol could not rest unless hot applications wereuBcd on my side, and my kidneys were very bad.

In my despair, I began the use of Dr. Greene's Nervura blood and nerve remedy, and 1 will say that this wenderful medicine is the greatest blessing that ever came into a family.

MRS. S. R. I1ERRT.

It has done perfect wonders for me. I was soon on the right road to health and strength by its, use, and I am gaining every day. After taking two bottles I could do more work than I had for over a year, and now I do all my housework and all my sewing. I can walk vigorously, indeed have walked as far as five miles in an afternoon, les it is true, you can ask anyone here.

I can now eat better than eTer. am strong again and have got back most of my former looks and good color.

I am a wonder to everybody who kno A'B how weak and low I was before using this remedy. Our doctor met me a few days ago and said that I was doing wonderfully, that my eyes were bright and that I looked well.

Oh, words are useless! I cannot tell how much I prize this great and blessed medicine. All my family join me in one loud chorus in saying, God bless this great health giving remedy! I have told every one of my friends, far and near, and you see they cannot help believing for here I am a living witness to show what has been done for me.

Can anything bo added to this? The sick and suffering should certainly use so marvelous a health giver as this great remedy appears to be. Especially should all use it now for it is the most excellent of all spring medicines to invigorate the blood, strengthen the nerves and regulate all the organs. It is purely vegetable and harmlees, and druggists keep it for $1. per bottle.

Doctors recommend and prescribe it because it is the discovery and prescription of an eminent physician, Dr. Greene, of W. 14th Street, New York, the succesBft'l specialist in curing all forms of nervous and chronic diseases. The doctor can be consulted free, personally or by letter.
