DR. E. HUNTSTNGER
It is now about six years since Dr. E. Huntsingor of Frankfort, Ind., began making regular visits to Crawfordsville, during: which time ho has treated hundreds of cases and performed scores of surgical operations for cataracts, cross ©yes, closure of the tear ducts, etc., with a success that commends him to the oonfidence of this entire community. SPECTACLES: Special attention to fitting spectacles and eye glasses for which purpose the doctor has one of the moat elaborate and complete set of perfecting testing appliances in the west. EYESTRAIN: Which requires glasses to be correct is one of the most'coma on causes of weak painful vision and of headache. It produces more*headache •f various kinds, especially sick and nervous headache than all other causes oombined. It is also a very common oauseofweak. watery, sensitive, painful, smarting, heaviness and aching in, ever back or around the eyes. When reading letters blue and run together.
These symptoms usually disappear when reading or close work is laid aside, but return again aa often as either is re sumed. These cases call for the highest •kill in determining the kind and strength of glasses to prescribe.

Mr. Gil Shanklin continues to be an important figure in Indiana politics. Ws never could see why this should be particularly so. He has been a seeker for office of some kind for a score of years, and with indifferent success. Why he is entitled to so much consideration, it is not easy to explain. Indiana would have cast her vote for Cleaveland in 1892 if Shanklin had not been known. His failure to be nominated for governor does not legitimately entitle him to some fat office under the administration, and his failure to win need not necessarily make of him an object of sympathy. Shanklin in seeking to down Gray and his friends, had not calculated ou the immensity of the job. He knows just about what it is now, and in his disregard of the rights and feelings of others, has probably learned very much more of Indiana politics than he previously possessed.
JUNKETING JOUBNEYS. The junketing councilmen, those traveling at the expense of the tax-payers, arrived safely home last week from their inspectiou of the "T" rail and the flat rail. So soon as a system of sewerage is agreed upon another junketing journey will be arranged. When the work of paving Main street is fully settled still another tour will be necessary to see what vitrified brick looks like and the color of the sand or gravel necessary to place between them. The councilmen should publish a book on "Junketing Tours" with marginal notes so that the reader could fally comprehend the ob ject and aims of them. As Jeff Scott never misses any of those trips he would be the man to write it.
THE apjiointment of Senator Voorhees as chairman of the Senate finance committee in CongresB would seem as an elegant bit of sarcasm, when the improvident disposition of the Senator is known. With the yearly receipt of $5,000 for twenty-live years pant added to soveral fat legal fees of $1,000 or $2,000 sandwitchod between, it is questionable if the Senator, in a pinch, could produce $5. However, what lack of financial knowledgo he may be short on, he can easily obtain from his fellow townsman, lion. Thop. Nelson.
JAMES Hanna, Con Cunnmeham, Charles Bowers, Stephen Lee, Walter HuleU and maoy more patriots in this county, are all wanting omces under the new administration. Business must be dull with many of these gentlemen, judged by their anxiety to get office. They won't all get positions is sure, and some of them should remember that there is such a thing as defeat.
MOVED by motives of economy the state of Nevada, with less than 50,000 population, and that dwindling, is considering the question of consolidating counties and abolishing its supreme court. Nevada has one congressman, two senators and throe electors. Nevada itself ought to be abolished as a state or annexed to Utah.
DEMOCRATIC editors honing for office may broath free again as Cleveland will not discriminate against them as announced some days ago. Delinquent subscribers can in consequence have further indulgence.
THE dozen or more candidates from this county who are hoping and expecting a chance of some kind at the public crib may get something—the information that they may retire and that all vacancies are filled.

The trouble with most medicines is that they spoil the appetite, weaken digestion, and creato bile. Ayer'B Cherry Pectoral, on the contrary, while it gives immediato relief, assists rather than impairs tho assimilative process.
What is lacking is truth and confidence. If there were absolute truth on the one hand and absolute confidence on tho other, it wouldn't be necessary for tho makers of Dr. Sage'B Catarrh Remedy to back up a plain statement of fact by a $500 guarantee. They say— "If we can't cure you (make it personal, please,) of catarrh in the head, in any form or stage, we'll pay you $500 Tor your trouble in making the trial." "An advertising fake," you say. Funny isn't it, how some people prefer Bickness to health when the remedy is positive and the guarantee absolute. Wise men don't put money back of "fakes" and "faking" doesn't pay.
