That bone the New Richmond M. D's failed to describe is wonderful. And to think poke root did it all!

Miss Alice Ebright, of New Richmond, delivered a fine declamation at the temperance meeting at this place last Sunday night.

Campbell has just received, from the best seed firm in the United States, a fine lot of garden seeds. They are guaranteed to be first-class.

Scribe of Linden, thanks for the compliment in your last letter to THK REVIEW, May you always have the good opinion expressed in your last.

Farmers would do well to raise moro potatoes. For the last few years they have been high, and it looks like in the future the potato crop is to be one of profit.

Tom Stroup. formerly a resident and blacksmith of this place, but now living at Forrest, Ind., visited friends hero last Saturday and Sunday. He reports business good in his place.

Ptople who live in and near Bmall towns should patronize and build UD their own stores. If you had no stores near you your lands would decrease in value, and besides it is a great accommodation to you.

Mr. P. Ramsey, -.vho moved from hero to Virginia la'd year has returned to this place. He reports hard times in old Virginia and the people in stringent circumstances. We welcome Mr. R. back as he is a good man.

Walter McBoo will run the farm his father Win. McBoo bought. We are sorry to have Walter inovo so far away but we will say to those lie may chance to neighbor with, you will find in him a No. 1 man in every respect.

Let us see what our legislature has done: We will have to pay six dollars per day for a lot of persons of the Seller stripe to go there and pretond to labor in tho iuterestof the people. Well just so long as tho American people will

elect Buch people they must blame no ono but thomBolves. The Clover Lear R. R. is qui to accommodating, but they will havo to get different men in tho yards at Frankfort or pay for tho stolen goods. Hardly a package comes here from that placo that has not been tampered with.

Train Crow has sold his farm to some unknown parties. Wo supposo Mr. Crow has taken a dishko for this community since he was suod for $10,000 for alienating the affections of aiother man's wife. Well, it is enough to make any man sell out.

Could I dance I would go to Washington, D. C., and the first lady I would ask to dance would bo Grover's wife and thereby get up a jealous foeling at tho White House, so I guess I had better remain in Kirkpatrick and sell goods cheap during the fandango.

Tramp, tramp, tramp, tho boyB are coming! Some with arms in slings, some with one shoe on and all of them with an empty stomach. Tramps for Bupper, tramps for dinner, tramps for breakfast and tramps all the time moving up and down the Clover Leaf railroad.

Post Master! Ahem! Brother B.you make us blush behind the ears. If you will make it M. P. instead of P. M. we might think over it. You see one would be for postmaster and the other member of parliament which would make some difference. No wo are not a candidate for any office save that of matrimony, and we st'ind a devilish poor chance for that.

We are informed that Ben Swank, of Coal Creek township, will be collector of internal revenue or at least will try for that position. Ben has been an ardent worker in the democratic ranks for years and has received as yet not ono cent. The people of Madison township would be glad to see Ben got tho position and we know he would do it well. Success to Ben.

Mr. Editor: Wo hear a great many people asking about water gas that is to bo put in Crawfordsville for light and fuel purposes. No one seems to know anything about it. Can't you give your readers a discription of it, and can it be used to advantage in small towns like New Richmond, Kirkpatrick or Linden, and as to itB cheapness in comparison with wood or coal.

The man who owes his merchant a bill should by all means not blander the merchant who has accommodated him. Where is tho principle, and if you, I mean the ono to whom this applies, think the merchant doos not know it you are badly off. How small it looks to talk about tho roan to whom you are indebted. What could be meaner? This applies to every neighborhood where there is a store. Your tongue hurts yourself more than the one you try to damage.

The merchant in thiB day and age of the world who is honest enough to pay his debts, is a curiosity. How often do we find that all the merchant has is in his wife's name. He will make a big blow, sell goods at prices that will break him up, take the bankrupt act and pay off at 25 or cents on the dollar. He pockets the rest of the money and then Bets up again in opposition to the man who pays 10C centB on the dollar for his goods. But then still he is an honest man!

In reply to the Linden senbe wo will say that your were right in saying that Linden was the most suitable place for the school building but pray tell us why so much money should be expended on such a building while at other points in tho township the school houses are in somo places nearly unfitfor school purposes? You know that half the money that was expended on the Linden school house would have been quite ample for all purpoi es i'ou must remember that if wo are near the county lino the people of this vicinity pay just as much taxes as the people of your vicinity do. Also that you have a school house costing, it is said, nine thousand dollars, and we would bo glad to have one costing one thousand. Is there that much difference, pray toll us?
