"fritz ID Ireland."
It is very creditable to Mr. J. K. Emmet that lie is able to continue the popularity of "Fritz in Ireland'' after its innumerable repetitions, and in face of the comparison with his father that naturally sugucsts itself. Tins comparison is not odious. He dances with grace, has a musical voice and acts with spirit and pleasing humor. The company is capable. including Missep Florence Germaine, Genevra Campbell and Martha Jen nose, and W. P.Sheldon, J. R. Gildersleeve, Vernon Ramsdell and Paul Matthews. The play is picturesquely set, its striking scenes showing t,he church and cottage on the Rhine, a ruin in Ireland by moonlight, and interior, and an ancient castle with characteristic laudscape. Agresable features are the jaunting car and donkey, the chimes, the infant choristers and the big church organ.—St. Louis Republic.

Some weeks ago tho relief committee found tho family living in a ho vol and IU a half-starved condition. Tho matter was reported to Judgo Harney who issuod au order to have the two children taken to the Orphan's Homo. When her tattered darlings were taken from her Mrs. Stephenson made Koino howl and swore vengeance upon every trson vested with official authority. She frequently visited tho children at tho Home, and it is altogether probable made arrangements with the children for their escape. Last Sunday as usual all the children were sent to tho First Presbyterian church Sunday school. All roturned oafely but the McKinsey children who had given the others the slip, and went to their mother's home in tho north end. Matron

New Richmond's Panic.
There was quite a lively timo up at New Richmond last Monday. Tliore wu some blood spilled, too, aud some ugly gaping wounds inado that nothing but years of tune will heal. Saturday tho eastern exchange failed to reach the Isexv Richmond bank and consequently on Monday tho bank was forced to suapend the payment of chocks until the money arrived on the afternoon train. This action caused considerable comment and criticism. Some of tho citizens condemned tho bank management and were violent in their denunciation others sided in with tho bankers. During theexcitement J. A. McCardle dropped into tho drug store of Dr. Hollin and was accused by the latter gentleman of traducing the reputation of the back.
This was toj for Mc. and in a moment the two were engaged in a lively exchange of blows. Friends finally separated them, but the affair caused a gonoral uprising of both factionB and for a timo a general riot was threatened. ,Tho train bearing tho vulgar cash brought the fracas to a close, but tho fracture of many former personal friend----ships will be many years in healing..
