I DENOUNCING EACH OTHEB. GV Clarkeon, one of the trio of republican leaders that at Minneapolis, last summer, sought to defeat tho nomination of Harrison for President, is seemingly much incensed that tho President should nominate a democrat for Supreme Judge of the ,U. S. court and denounces him in loud ternts. Clarkson in a back number of his party, is a loudmouthed fanatical crank, and his motive is simply an opportunity he has taken to "even up," probably, because he was removed at Harrison's request from the chairmanship of tho republican central committee. Since tho Waterloo with which the party mot, la6t year, it ia observed that they are ready to denounce each other at the first opportunity and upon the slightest pretext, which illustrates forceibly the truth of the old saying, "Whoever the Gods would destroy they first make mad." Republican leaders have been mad at each other over since the election and tho destruction of the party is only a matter of time at'd a short time only.

HUMORED RAILWAY EMPLOYEES STKIKE. Rumors of a big railroad strike to bo inaugurated May 1st, are floating around The number engaged in it, it is said, wil' bo about 700,000, and embrace most of tho engineers, firemen, trainmen and switchmen on all lines west of Pittsburg. The report has it that the strike will be under way about the time of the World's Fair opening, and the aim is to stop all trafic until the companies will grant higher wages than at present paid There does seem a pressing need among many railways for a re-construction of the wages system. A railway company that pays section men from $1,10 to *1.25 per day, and it President from $20,000 to $40,000 per year, certainly needs a "roforru" of some kind, In6ualities like these are what cause many strikes on railway lines.

SENATOU SELLER, according to the legislative report of proceedings in tho Senate, as published in tho Sentinel. has it in for his country paper," and opposed tho further publication of the election ballot. If Senator Seller ever subscribed and paid for

ilhis

country

paper" in all the years he has lived here we have yet to hear of it, and if any publisher in Crawfordsville knows of him BO doing please arise. Publishers here will never open a bank account through his patronage, and his "having in" for anybody need not cause them to lose sleep in consequence.

Senator Seller has been posing as the champion reformer of the senate sincR the organization, and he delivered along "reform" speech, in which he could not conceal that he "had it in" for hiB county newspaper.—Sentinel.

All the same this "champion reformer" favorod the saddling on the state of an increased number of lazy loafers as door-keepers, clerks, etc., at an expense of several thousands of dollars to the tax payers. It iB well to keep an eye on all Buch "champion reformer*.

THE Populists of the Nebraska l«giflature with the aid of the democrats have elected a U. S. Senator. His name is Wn.V. Allen. Nebraska for the first time in many years ia without a republican senator. Another evidence that republicanism in the west is rapidly on the decline.

A MAN at Peru, Indiana, who has indulged in the pastime of beating his ife received a sentence last week of seven years confinement in the penitentiary. The sentence is probably we'll deserved, but is the most severe yet recorded for offenses of that sort.

TH» state legislature, has yet two weeks' session. Like so many similar bodies that has preceded it in this state it has thus far done little or nothing and tho state would have been better off had it have never met.

A Contractor's Advice.

Messrs Dullain Bros.—Gentlemen:—I take great pleasure in testifying in bohalf of Dullam's Great German blood, liver, stomach and kidney cure. I can safely say that I never took such medicine as that to cleanse the liver, stomach and kidneys. I was suffering for years with billiousness, indigestion, and loss of appetite and sleep. One bottle did for me more good than six montq's othor treatment, and I feel it my duty to testify in its behalf, so others may try it and get cured. Yours Truly
