Twister's Troubles.

J. K. Henry, of New ROBS this week, tiled suit in the circuit court against tho Western Union Telegraph Company for §2,500 damages for the loss of a valuable horse through I be carelessness of one of tho company's employees. It appears that prior to the loth of last November Mr. Henry was the owner of one of the most promising colts in the country. The animal was breathing and living under the euphonious cognomen of Twister. He was bred in purple, bluo blood coursing through every vein, and it was tho one cherished hope of Mr. Henry to see the name of Twister supplant that of Nancy Hanks as king of the turf. With the coming of wintry's chilly blasts Twister gave evidence of having contracted a severe cold. The way ho would wheeze and sneeze brought terror to the heart, of his master. Finally on Nor. 15 Mr. Ilenry sent a telegram to Dr. Highway, who looks after the the physical welfare of the animal kingdom in and around Ladoga. For some reason the operator at Ladoga failed to deliver the message and on the following day Mr. H«nrv was forced to go in person for tho veterinarian. In the mean time however Twister's cold had developed into an aggravated case of pneumonia and on the 17th he turned hie precious feet skyward, while his spirit flitted noiselessly away into the great beyond. Mr. Henry is confident that had Dr. Highway arrived twentyfour hours ea-lier Twister's life could have been paved, or.srquently ho asks the court to render judgment against the telegraph company for §2,500, the sum he had been offered for tho animal.

The celebrated Carrols, R. M. and Edwin known all over the amusement world as two of tho best comedians that have ever appeared in this country, gave a tino presentation of tho thrilling fouract comedy drama, "Tho Dago," at Pore's opera houso Wednesday night. Tho play captuied the entire before tho first act was half through, and the repeated encores insisted upon by the audience prolonged the piece an hour later than usual. The play is of a substantial character, dealing with life in a great city, the thread of the story being wound about the many incidents connected with an Italian padrone in the slums of New York, and tho little child of a rich banker whom he abducts to obtain a reward offered by a bold and cunning adventuress. Tho Carrolls are tho principal features of the performance, R. M. assuming the title role, in which ho makes a noteworthy BUCCCSS, while his son Edwin 11. plays a heroic, but humorous, Irish policeman. The play lays a well supported claim to scenic distinction. Among he scenes upon which much stress may, bo laid are The Brooklyn bridge, the Da go's attic, a thrilling tiro episode, the blizzard, and others of equal merit. Various bright musical specialties aud dancing aro interspersed throughout the performance. At Music Hall, Thursday Jan 19th.
