Once More Free.
Joseph Jones, he of ebony hue, is once moro bathing iu freedom's air. Joe was charged with stealing souio lap robee and buggy cloth from Pursel's carriage shop last summer which wore found by the police secroted in the boudoire of Mrs. Willie Bennett, in tho north end The State started out to establish three factB, viz: That the robes were stolen that they were found in the possession of Mrs, Bill Bennett, and last that they were given Mrs. Bennett by the defendent. The first two paragraphs were proven conclusively without a struggle and it only required tho testimony of Mrs. Bennett to lay the theft at the door of Joe Jones. But right here the State didn't connect, Cor Mrs. Bennett, after a little persuasion, testified that Joseph didn't give the robes to her and she knew nothing about them. This was too much for evon tho patience of Prosecutor Moffett, who jumped to his feet and asked that the gentle Annie bo taken to jail until he could file an affidavit against her for perjury, Judge Ilarney sustained the motion and Mrs. Bennett was hustled off to jail. Judge Harney then charged the jury to bring in a verdict of acquittal and in live minutes Air. Jones, citizen, was again turned loose upon a suffering public.

The following special from ^ort Wayne to Sutday's Indianapolis Sentinel says:
George Reed, advance press agent for the Leslie-Davis Dramatic Companv, attempted suicide to-day in the Rich Hotel, by turning on tho gas. Ho was nearly dead when found. On a card laying on the stand were written the following words: "God bless ono that I love, and keep her pure and good," and he wound up witha"roast" for Port Wayne.
Reed is well known here as well as '.'the one he loves." Last spring ho took the Keeley Curo but judging from the above it appears to have benefitted him but little.
