INDIANA'S OFFICIAL VOTE. The canvass of the official rote of Indiana has been completed. Upon each ekctoral ticket the first elector received more votes than any of those following, presumably because masv voters believed that by stamping the first name on the ticket they were voting for all the candidates in the list. The vote for •lectors, counting only the vote for the first elector on each ticket, is as follows: Cleveland 262,740 Harrison 255,615 Bid well 13,050 Weaver 22,208

0H0LERA COMING.
Prof. Hicks, of St Louis, whose weather prognostications for some years past have proven quite reliable, believes that next year this country is to be scourged with cholera. He bases his belief on climatic conditions and the condition of the atmosphere produced by the nearness of the com«t to the earth. We trust the professor is "off" in these predictions as lie has occasionally been in his prophecies regarding the weather. It may be well, however, for the people to aim to prepare for this ilread scourge, which they can do. by cleaning up their premises and keeping them clean by destroying all decaying matter, lilth of all kinds and which so frequently breed other maladies. Clenliness of person and premises is the surest preventive of cholera as it has generally been observed that the home of cholera is most times among those who eschew all sanitary suggestions, and are indifferent to their surroundings. Forewarned is forearmed, and the cholera's visit may not bo distinguished by tho great mortility of former seasions if the people will prepare in time.
THE SCREEN ORDINANCE. The city council it is thought will pass what is known as tho "screen'' ordinance, as mofct of the members, it is understood, favor it. It orders the removal of all screens in saloons after 11 o'clock, p. m. and all day of Sunday. It is a small step in the right direction as it is contrary to the law to sell on Sunday or after 11 o'clock p. m., yet there is probably no doubt that many saloon keepers in town violate it every week of tho year. It may not amount to much but if rightly enforced will send many loafers homo earlier than many of them now go. There are scores of men in every community, steady drinkers of intoxicants, yet who seek in every way from having it known. They lack the courage of their appitites. They seek by every means to conceal their drinking propensities from the eyes of the world and to a great extent succeed.
The screon helps them greatly. If by removal at certain specified times there will be that much less drinking. The screen ordinance will not have been created in vain.
The Australian ballot system is too complex for many voters, yet this does not and should not detract from its usefulness It is the only election law that has really intimidated many rascals from perpetrating frauds at election*, and will remain until something better is discovered. It is a sad comment on the honesty of a fr»e people when such a law has to be enacted, yot it was absolutely needed and its benefits cannot be questioned.

I gave myself up to my Savior, determined if I could not stay with my friends on earth, I would rmeet my absent ones above. It was Mr. Emerson who said "the first wealth is health," and it was a wiser thing than the modern philosopher who said that "the blood is tho life." The svstem, like the clock, runs down. It needs winding up. The blood gets poor and scores oL diseases result. It needs a tonic to enrich it.
A certain wise doctor, after years of patient study, discovered a medicine which purified the blood, gave tone to the system, and made men—tired, nervous, brain-wasting »eu—felt like new. He called it his "Golden Medical Dis covery." 11 has been sold for years, sold by the million of bottles, and people found such satisfaction in it that Dr. Pierce, who discovered it, now feels arranted in selling it under a positive guarantee of its doing good in all cases.
Perhaps it is the medicine for you. "our's wouldn't be the first case of scrofula or salt:rheum, skin disease, or ting disease, it has cured when nothing else would. The trial's worth malting, md costs nothing. Money refunded if it don't do vou good.
It is impossible to prevent cough and cold in the winter season. A draught of air. the going out of a fire or any sudden change of tho temperature of a room is sufficient to produce such a result. While vve cannot prevent, we can easily cure these troublesome affections with a few doses of Dr. Bull's Cough Syrup.
"When your heart is bad, and your head is bad, and you' are bad clean through, what is needed?" asked a Sun-day-school teacher of her class. "I know—Ayer's Sarsaparilla," epoko up a little girl, whose mother had recently been restored to health by that medicine. V.
No better preparation for the hair has ever been invented than Ayer's Hair Vigor. It restores the original color to faded or gray hair, and imparts that natural gloss and freshnsss, everyone so much admires. Its reputation is worldwide.
